Quick Read - The Hyundai Neira MPV is expected to launch in India in the first half of 2027 with petrol, turbo-petrol, diesel and CNG options. Based on the Kia Carens Clavis, it gets Hyundai-specific exterior styling and a similar cabin layout.
Hyundai is expected to bring the Neira MPV to India in the first half of 2027. The upcoming model will be based on the Kia Carens Clavis, but will get Hyundai-specific styling and a different powertrain lineup.
The Neira was showcased as an electric MPV concept at the 2026 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). However, the India-bound model is expected to launch with internal-combustion engines (ICE) rather than as a purely electric vehicle.
It is expected to be offered with petrol, turbo-petrol, diesel and CNG options, giving Hyundai a new contender in India's three-row MPV segment.
Hyundai could also showcase it at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in early 2027, ahead of its market introduction.

Neira Design

The Neira prototype retains the Carens Clavis's overall proportions, including its upright stance, long roofline, large glass area and three-row MPV silhouette. However, Hyundai has made changes to distinguish its version.
At the front, the prototype features a Hyundai badge on the bonnet, horizontal grille elements and a prominent bumper with contrasting silver cladding. The headlamp units sit lower on the front fascia, while the upper section features a slim lighting element. Its alloy wheels also have a different design from those on the Kia.

The rear gets connected tail lamps, a Hyundai badge and a revised bumper with silver-finished lower cladding. Roof rails, black body cladding and chrome door handles complete the exterior.
Overall, the Neira looks much closer to the Carens Clavis than to Hyundai's existing SUVs, with most of the visible differentiation concentrated in the front and rear styling.

Neira Cabin to Share Its Layout With the Carens Clavis EV

The Neira prototype's cabin follows the same broad layout as the Carens Clavis EV. It features a dual-screen dashboard, a separate infotainment display and digital instrument cluster, a central AC control panel and a floating centre console. The showcased concept also has a three-row, seven-seat layout.
The production model is expected to retain much of this layout, although its final equipment list has not been announced. Hyundai-specific branding and trim details could help distinguish the cabin from its Kia counterpart.
Neira MPV Engine and CNG Option
The India-bound Neira is expected to get naturally aspirated petrol, turbo-petrol, diesel and factory-fitted CNG powertrain options. Hyundai has not announced the engine capacities, power and torque figures, transmission options or fuel-efficiency numbers for the MPV.
These details are expected to emerge closer to its launch.

Neira Rivals
The Hyundai Neira will enter a segment occupied by the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6, along with the Carens and Carens Clavis. Its positioning is expected to overlap with these models, although the final pricing and variant lineup will determine how directly they compete.
The CNG option could help the Neira appeal to private buyers and fleet operators looking for a larger vehicle with lower running costs.
Hyundai is expected to announce more details closer to the MPV's planned India debut in 2027.
