Hyundai India has launched the facelifted Ioniq 5 at ₹55.70 lakh (ex-showroom).
This marks the Electric SUV's first-ever update in India since its launch here in 2023. The facelift arrives in India a year after its global debut with design enhancements, a bigger battery pack, and more features.
Here's a detailed look at everything new in the 2026 Ioniq 5.
IONIQ 5 Exterior Design Updates

The Ioniq 5 facelift retains the iconic retro-futuristic look but adds subtle refinements. It grows slightly in length by 20mm due to redesigned bumpers. Up front, you will notice a wider air intake and a new V-shaped garnish.
On the side, it gets auto-flush door handles that open using touch sensors. The aero-optimised, 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels get a fresh look as well.
It gets a bigger rear spoiler for better aerodynamics, while the updated rear bumper now includes two integrated fog lights for better visibility.
The updated Ioniq 5 comes in four exterior colour options - Gravity Gold Matte, Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Grey and Optic White.

IONIQ 5 Interior Updates

For the cabin, Hyundai has moved away from the beige theme, opting for a sportier black and grey layout.
One of the most requested features in the outgoing Ioniq 5 was a rear wiper, which Hyundai has finally added. The centre console has been redesigned with more physical buttons for functions like ventilated seats and parking assist.
Tech lovers will appreciate the 12.3-inch infotainment system, which now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It also gets Hyundai's Bluelink connected car tech, with features like Auto crash notification, OTA navigation, battery status information, and POI search for charging station.
The wireless charging pad has been moved to a more accessible spot. The Ioniq 5 also gets V2L (Vehicle-to-Load), with its socket providing up to 3.6 kW power.
An interesting addition is the new in-car payment feature, which allows drivers to pay for EV charging directly through the infotainment screen.
Bigger Battery Pack with More Range

The Ioniq 5 continues with Hyundai's E-GMP platform.
The previous 72.6kWh battery makes way for a larger 84kWh unit, producing nearly 225 bhp, with a top speed of 185 km/h. It delivers an ARAI-certified range of 690 km.
It comes with a 350kW DC fast charger, with a 10-80% charge taking just 18 minutes.

Comfort and Safety Features

In terms of safety, Hyundai offers Level 2 ADAS with 22 features, including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, and many more.
It also features the latest version of Remote Smart Parking Assist and an intelligent front lighting system. For a smoother ride, the suspension and dampers have been retuned to handle Indian road conditions and reduce steering wheel vibrations.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 will continue competing against the Kia EV6 and BYD Seal.
