Does the Hyundai Bayon Have a 5-Star Safety Rating?
Not yet, based on the information announced by Hyundai. The company says the Bayon is engineered for 5-star Indian safety standards, citing its internal assessment.
This distinction matters because the Tata Nexon has received a 5-star Global NCAP rating, while the Mahindra XUV 3XO has earned a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.
The Bayon's actual crash-test result, if and when published by an independent assessment programme, will provide a more direct comparison with these rivals.
Bayon Engine and Transmission
The Bayon will use a four-cylinder, 1.5-litre MPi naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115 PS and 143.8 Nm of torque. Buyers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual gearbox and Hyundai's Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
Bayon Colour Options
The Bayon will be available in 10 exterior colour options across monotone, dual-tone and matte finishes.
| Colour Type | Available Colours |
|---|---|
| Monotone | Titanium Black, Classy Blue, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Golden Bronze and Ecotronic Grey |
| Dual-tone | Atlas White with Black Roof, Fiery Red with Black Roof |
| Matte | Titanium Black Matte, Classy Blue Matte |
