Tata's newly launched Sierra EV is a 5-seater available in five variants across 63 kWh and 75 kWh battery options, from the base Pure to the top Empowered A AWD, with ex-showroom prices ranging from around ₹18.79 lakh to ₹26.48 lakh.
Here is all its variants explained. We've done a similar writeup on the Harrier EV, and a detailed comparison between the two, if you're comparing them.
The Sierra EV offers claimed range of up to 535-665 km (MIDC) depending on the battery and drivetrain. Meanwhile, standard safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, ISOFIX mounts, rear parking sensors, and Level 2 ADAS on higher variants.

Sierra EV Pure

The Pure is for someone who wants the Sierra badge and its 535 km certified range without paying for gadgetry they won't use.
You get a proper 6 airbag safety net, rear camera, cruise control and OTA updates, which covers the essentials most buyers actually rely on daily, aligning with the safety standards seen in the safest cars In India.
However it lacks sunroof, rear parking sensor, V2L, and features cloth seats, among other compromises.
Get this only if you don't care about kit and just want the cheapest way into a Sierra EV.

Sierra EV Pure S

Pure S is the variant that fixes Pure's most obvious gaps for a manageable premium.
A sunroof, front parking sensor, V2L and V2V, and SOS calling arrive here, and this is where the Sierra EV starts feeling like a modern EV rather than a stripped down base model.
At roughly ₹1.2 lakh over Pure, this is arguably the smartest entry point into the range if you don't need the bigger battery or the terrain modes.
It still misses the 360 camera and JBL audio that Adventure brings, so buyers who care about sound and visibility should keep looking upward.

Sierra EV Adventure

Adventure is where the Sierra EV starts justifying its size and stance, with the 360 degree camera, terrain modes, and a proper 12 speaker JBL system with Dolby Atmos.
This is also the first trim to offer the larger 75 kWh battery, pushing certified range to 665 km on paper.
Real world figures on Tata's recent EVs typically land meaningfully under ARAI numbers on the highway, so treat that as a real world 510 to 530 km rather than a hard promise.
Adventure suits buyers who actually drive on weekend trips and want the in-built navigation and drift mode, and city-only buyers are better served sticking with Pure S.

Sierra EV Empowered

Empowered is the single biggest price jump in the ladder, costing roughly ₹1.8 lakh over Adventure, and it brings screens and comfort, though not capability.
The third passenger display, gesture tailgate, memory seats and dual-zone AC are all nice upgrades, but there's still no ADAS here, which is meant for Empowered A. What you're paying is flagship money for a flagship feel without the flagship safety net.
Notably, the passenger screen also skips a privacy filter, a real miss at this price.

Sierra EV Empowered A

Empowered A adds full Level 2+ ADAS, auto park assist and remote summon for just one lakh over Empowered, the sharpest per-rupee jump on the list, but it locks you into the 75 kWh pack only. The R19 wheels also mean a firmer ride than the 18-inch cars below.
Note that Tata's ADAS on the Harrier and Safari has shown patchy traffic sign recognition, and AEB that won't catch everything above 40-60kmph. Therefore, treat it as a safety aid, not a substitute for attention.

Sierra EV Empowered A AWD

At the top of the range, the Empowered A AWD adds a second motor up front, 504 Nm combined torque and 52% gradeability against 33-34% for the rear-drive cars.
However, the certified range drops to 624km from 665km, real-world C75 estimates fall to 480-500km from 510-530km, and the frunk shrinks to 35L from 55L.
Buy this for actual snow, sand or rock crawling, not because AWD sounds premium, as the RWD Empowered A already carries the same ADAS suite.

|---|---|
| Battery Pack | 75 kWh |
| Powertrain / Drivetrain | QWD Dual Motor Setup, Boost Mode |

What's Common Across All Tata Sierra EV Variants?
Every Sierra EV ships with 6 airbags, the full 19-feature ESP suite, all-wheel disc brakes and TPMS, safety kit that doesn't thin out at the bottom of the range the way it does on rivals.
The rear-mounted PMSM motor, liquid-cooled pack, IP67 sealing and lifetime battery warranty (unlimited kilometres) are identical whether you buy the cheapest Pure or the range-topping AWD. Wheelbase (2730mm) and boot space (622 litres) don't change either.
The "ACFC" badge you'll see on every price list simply adds Tata's bundled 7.2kW AC wall charger for a flat ₹49,000, regardless of variant.
Lastly, don't take even Tata's own C75 real-world estimate at face value. On the mechanically related Harrier EV, sharing this battery architecture, independent range tests have landed below Tata's own C75 numbers, not just below the flattering MIDC figures.
