Punch EV Smart

The Smart 30 offers a real-world range of 260-275 km, workable for daily commutes under 65 km with a home charger, but highway runs become stressful.
It sits comfortably among the affordable automatic cars under 10 lakh for city usage, though the harder issue is the absence of a touchscreen.
You get a basic instrument cluster and no paddle shifters, locking regenerative braking to a single mode.
However, the Smart+ at roughly ₹60,000 more adds a touchscreen and paddle shifters, while a nearly ₹1.20 lakh premium unlocks the 40 kWh motor, drastically cutting the 0-100 acceleration time.

Punch EV Smart+

The Smart+ earns its keep as a daily car, introducing a Harman touchscreen, smartphone integration, and paddle shifters.
The Smart+ 40 is the rational pick for roughly ₹60,000 over the 30 kWh, adding the 129 hp motor, 335-355km real-world range, three drive modes, auto-hold parking brake, and reverse camera.
This package ranks it among the best EVs under 20 lakh with 300 km of real-world range, targeting buyers wanting reliable EV range without paying for rarely used features.
While cruise control and alloys are absent, the Smart+ 40 remains the lineup's clear value inflection point for city-heavy usage.
| Category | Specs |
|---|---|
| Comfort & Convenience | Paddle Shifters for Multi-mode Regen, USB Type - C+C Fast Charging Port (65W), iToggle Window Controls (Front and Rear), Prismatic IRVM, Steering mounted controls, Remote Key with Central Locking 40 kWh only: Multi Drive Modes – Eco / City / Sport, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, Hill Hold Control, Camera-Based Reverse Park Assist, Jeweled Control Knob, Co-Driver Vanity Mirror |
| Infotainment & Connectivity | 20.32 cm Infotainment by HARMAN, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 4 Speakers, Shark finn Antenna with GPS |

Punch EV Adventure

The Adventure adds keyless entry, cruise control, hill descent control, and electric ORVMs over the Smart+ 40.
For a rough ₹70,000 premium, cruise control alone justifies the step for highway users, while the rare hill descent control aids in hilly regions or steep parking structures.
While it holds its own against big SUVs under 15 lakh, the catch is what it withholds: you still get steel wheels, wired connectivity, and no 360° camera or digital cockpit.
However, the Empowered at around ₹70,000 more addresses nearly every omission, adding the digital cockpit and wireless features.
| Category | Specs |
|---|---|
| Comfort & Convenience | Push Button Start/Stop (PEPS), Keyless Entry, Cruise Control, Hill Descent Control, Electric Adjustable ORVMs |
| Exterior & Lighting | Follow Me Home Headlights |
| Wheels & Colours | R16 Hyper-style Steel Wheels Single tone colours: caramel, supernova copper, pure grey, bengal rouge, pristine white |
| Battery Pack | Only available in 40 kWh |

Punch EV Empowered

The Empowered becomes a complete urban EV, adding a 26.03 cm HD infotainment system, a digital cockpit, a class-leading 360° camera, and a Blind Spot Monitor.
It also brings auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, alloy wheels, and an air purifier, making it one of the best cars under 20 lakh with built-in air purifiers.
However, its main weakness is the Empowered+ S, which sits around ₹30,000 higher but packs ventilated seats, a sunroof, leatherette upholstery, and wireless charging.
This narrow gap makes the Empowered a weak value argument, though it remains a sweet pick if you simply dislike sunroofs and leather.
| Category | Specs |
|---|---|
| Comfort & Convenience | Auto Headlamps, Rain Sensing Wiper, Rear Wiper and Auto Defogger, Front Armrest with Storage, Air Purifier, Cooled Glovebox, Electric ORVM with Auto Fold, USB Type - A+C Fast Charging Port (65W), Rear USB Type - C Fast Charging Port (15W), Dual Tone Roof |

| Exterior & Lighting | Digital Infinity Glow End-to-End Tail Lamp |

Punch EV Empowered+ S

The Empowered+ S is the most disproportionate deal in the range. For rouoghly ₹30,000 over the Empowered, you gain a sunroof, ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, Smart LED headlamps, wireless charging, and more.
Ventilated seats are a high necessity during Indian summers, and no other electric car in its segment offers them.
Furthermore, it undercuts the base Nexon EV while delivering a more feature-complete interior.
If your budget can stretch higher, there is simply no rational argument for stopping at the Empowered.
| Category | Specs |
|---|---|
| Comfort & Convenience | Voice-assisted Electric Sunroof, Front Ventilated Seats, Leatherette Seats, Auto-dimming IRVM, SOS Calling Function, Wireless Smartphone Charger, Rear Armrest |
| Exterior & Lighting | Smart LED Headlamps, Front LED Fog Lamps with Cornering Function, Roof Rails |
| Wheels & Colours | R16 Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels Dual tone colours: fearless yellow, empowered oxide, caramel, supernova copper, pure grey, bengal rouge, pristine white |

Should I Buy The Tata Punch EV?
| Consider Tata Punch EV if | Don’t consider Tata Punch EV if |
|---|---|
| You want a decent enough range from a manufacturer that is quite serious about its EV portfolio. | You regularly do interstate trips. You may have trouble finding chargers that work reliably and are fast enough. |
| You are on a tight budget and want to spend just enough to get around 250km of real-world range. | You live in a place where installing a 7kW wallbox charger is difficult and frequent power cuts are common. |
| You travel mainly in cities. Nothing beats an EV in the urban jungle. | You plan to buy this as your only car. While the Punch EV is value for money, a CNG option may offer better peace of mind. |
| You are tired of oil changes, leaking fluids, exhaust emissions, and regular engine maintenance. | You have trouble adapting to regen modes and one-pedal driving. |
| You want to do your part in helping the planet while driving one of the most economical and safest EV ever made. | You are not ready to deal with infotainment glitches, minor software bugs, and Tata’s world-famous “fully satisfying” customer service |
