The XUV 3XO EV carries some meaningful baggage into the market. Its predecessor, the XUV400, was respected for its powertrain but consistently criticised for a cabin that felt out of step with its price. Mahindra has used the 3XO EV to correct that, while it carries the same battery and motor, it comes wrapped in a more modern body and interior, and priced within striking distance of where the 400 left off.

If you're still deciding or benchmarking this against the Nexon EV or Punch EV, this guide breaks down exactly what each variant gets you and who each one is actually built for.

We've done a similar deep-dive on the Tata Punch EV's variant lineup if that's also on your shortlist.

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV Prices And Variants Summary

The XUV 3XO EV arrives in a tight lineup of just two variants: AX5 at ₹13,89 lakh and AX7L at ₹14.96 lakh (both ex-showroom). That's a spread of just over ₹1 lakh separating a well-equipped base from a fully loaded top trim.

It's close competition, the Tata Nexon EV starts around ₹12.49 lakh but requires stepping up to ₹16-18 lakh for ADAS and a panoramic roof. The MG Windsor EV meanwhile undercuts both on price but doesn't offer the same level of feature completeness at entry.

The XUV 3XO EV's 39.4 kWh battery and 351 km MIDC range place it comfortably in the mainstream EV sweet spot. It is not a range-anxiety car, and not a stripped-down value compromise either.

The decision for most buyers won't be whether to buy the 3XO EV, but which of the two variants justifies the ₹1.07 lakh jump.

Every XUV 3XO EV variant gets the same: powertrain, body, range, and a more complete safety and comfort kit than most competitors offer even at mid-spec. Here's what that means in practice:

Powering it is a 39.4 kWh battery paired with a 110 kW (150 PS) motor producing 310 Nm of torque, accessible via single-pedal driving or three distinct drive modes (Fun, Fast, Fearless). This yields a certified 351 km MIDC range (up to 456 km in low-speed urban cycles).

Every variants also support 50 kW DC fast charging from 0 to 80% in 50 minutes and 7.2 kW AC charging, alongside an included portable home charger.

On the tarmac, its 2,600 mm wheelbase provides a spacious cabin complemented by a class-leading 364-litre boot and 190 mm of ground clearance.

Inside, the standard tech suite matches most rivals' top specs, featuring dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger, and an electronic parking brake with AutoHold.

Safety wise, all trims feature 6 airbags, ESP, TPMS, all-wheel disc brakes, and a reassuring 5-star Bharat NCAP crash test rating for both adult and child occupant protection.

Here is what you get with each of the XUV 3XO EV variants sitting comfortably under 15 lakhs:

XUV 3XO EV AX5 Base Model

Who Should Buy The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV AX5 Base Model?

The AX5 is the variant to pick if your priority is getting into the XUV 3XO EV at the lowest possible price without being penalised on the essentials. And unlike most base trims, the AX5 doesn't feel like a stripped car.

You get the full twin 10.25-inch screen setup with Adrenox and built-in Alexa, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, an electronic parking brake with AutoHold, passive keyless entry, a single-pane sunroof, diamond-cut R16 alloys, and LED projector headlamps.

However, it misses the Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, Harman Kardon audio, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette seating, and 65W USB-C fast charging. If none of those features are dealbreakers for you, ADAS included, the AX5 at ₹13.89 lakh is one of the most compelling value-for-money EVs in the sub-₹15 lakh EV space.

This variant is best suited for first-time EV buyers and those upgrading from a petrol hatchback or compact sedan who want a feature-complete experience without paying a premium for hardware they may rarely use.

XUV 3XO EV AX7L Top Model

Who Should Buy The Mahindra XUV 3XO EV AX7L Model?

The AX7L adds four distinct upgrades over the AX5, and three of them are difficult to retrofit or compensate for after purchase. The panoramic Skyroof replaces the single-pane unit, and is a tangible cabin experience upgrade.

Level 2 ADAS brings adaptive cruise, lane-keep assist, and automatic emergency braking, which, once used daily on highways, tends to be irreversible in terms of expectation. Also, the 360-degree surround view system with Blind View Monitor addresses urban parking in a way a reverse camera simply cannot.

Inside, the Harman Kardon 7-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos is the only skippable upgrade in this list if premium audio experience isn't a priority for you. Additionally, soft-touch leatherette on the dashboard and door trims, leatherette seats, cooled glovebox, and 65W USB-C fast charging rounds out an interior that now competes with cars priced much higher.

At ₹1,07,000 over the AX5, the AX7L makes a better financial argument for itself if you regularly drive intercity routes where ADAS earns its keep, or if you live in a dense urban environment where the 360-degree camera becomes daily-use hardware rather than a party trick.

What features does Mahindra XUV 3XO EV AX7L add/upgrades over AX5?

The top-spec AX7L brings Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon audio and larger 17-inch alloy wheels.
