The three-row electric SUV segment in India has mostly relied on adapted platforms, where battery packaging and third-row space were often compromised. The Mahindra XEV 9S uses the company's purpose-built INGLO electric platform, developed with technical input and components from the Volkswagen Group.
Mahindra’s long-established SUV presence in India gives the XEV 9S access to a widespread dealer and service network, which remains an advantage over several newer EV brands. The vehicle also supports over-the-air (OTA) updates that extend to the ePowertrain and not just the infotainment system.
Here, we explain every variant of the XEV 9S in detail, including key specs, features, and differences to help you choose the right one.
Readers who are comparing options may also want to check our similar variant guide on the Tata Curvv EV (a strong alternative in the broader segment).
Mahindra XEV 9S Prices And Variants Summary
The XEV 9S is available in four variants, Pack One Above, Pack Two Above, Pack Three, and Pack Three Above, with ex-showroom prices spanning ₹19.94 lakh to ₹30.19 lakh (including the optional 11.2kW charger).
The Pack One Above offers a choice between 59kWh or 79kWh battery, and 70kWh or 79kWh for Pack Two Above. Whereas, Pack Three and Pack Three Above are exclusively 79kWh.
An optional 11.2kW home charger adds ₹75,000 across all variants. Unless specified, all prices referenced in this guide are ex-showroom without the charger.
The ₹10.25 lakh spread is structured across qualitatively different ownership tiers, not simply incremental feature additions. Pack One Above and Pack Two Above broadly occupy the value-rich EV and premium family car territory, while Pack Three and Three Above move into semi-autonomous capability and prestige tech space.
What anchors the XEV 9S's value proposition across the range is the density of its base-level content. Even the base Pack One Above ships with coast-to-coast triple super screens, an openable panoramic sunroof, five drive modes including Race, full OTA capability across infotainment, vehicle features, and the ePowertrain, and 5G connectivity.
At ₹19.95 lakh for a 7-seater electric SUV with these specs, it sets a strong benchmark for what entry-level pricing in this segment should look like.

The three battery sizes (59kWh, 70kWh, and 79kWh) all support DC fast charging from 20-80% in 20 minutes. Also, the compatibility with 7.2kW and 11.2kW AC wall chargers is consistent across the range, and a 13A portable household charger is always included.
Technology wise, all variants feature triple 31.24cm super screens, an openable panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto/CarPlay, built-in Alexa and ChatGPT, 5G connectivity (one year complimentary), and OTA update capability.

Here is what you get with each of the XEV 9S variants sitting comfortably under 30 lakhs:
XEV 9S Pack One Above Base Model

Who Should Buy The Mahindra XEV 9S Pack One Above Base Model?
Pack One Above is right for buyers who want the XEV 9S's core identity, featuring triple screens, panoramic sunroof, five drive modes, Race mode, Boost, at the lowest outlay.
The 79kWh at ₹21.95 lakh is where the value case peaks, as 679km MIDC and 210kW at that price is strong by any segment standard. Whereas, the 59kWh at ₹19.95 lakh suits city-primary buyers, and 521km MIDC covers the vast majority of real-world use.
However, it compromises with the absence of ADAS, fabric upholstery, non-alloy wheels, no ventilated seats, no wireless charging, and a 4-way manual co-driver seat. Also, only a reverse camera is provided, where parking a 4,737mm SUV without a 360-degree view is a persistent inconvenience this size class exposes quickly.
For frequent highway drivers, the absence of ADAS should be a clear push towards Pack Two Above after extended use, given if they make use of those features.
Meanwhile, for urban commuters, second-car buyers, or those prioritising OTA future-proofing over immediate luxury, the Pack One Above's price-to-spec density is difficult to beat.
What features does Mahindra XEV 9S Pack One Above base model have?

XEV 9S Pack Two Above Model

Who Should Buy The Mahindra XEV 9S Pack Two Above Model?
Pack Two Above is the variant most buyers evaluating the XEV 9S as a primary family car should consider. At ₹24.45 lakh for the 70kWh, it brings a solid Level 2 ADAS suite, featuring AEB, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, Smart Pilot Assist. Ventilated front seats and Harman Kardon 16-speaker audio with Dolby Atmos are also featured for daily-use satisfaction.
The 70kWh at ₹24.45 lakh is the sweet spot within this variant, as 600km MIDC covers virtually all usage patterns, and it saves ₹1 lakh over the 79kWh without meaningful range compromise.
The most critical additions over Pack One Above are the 360-degree camera, NFC Phone as Key, leatherette throughout, and a 6-way powered driver seat with memory and lumbar.
The alloy wheel upgrade over Pack One Above's stylised units is also a visible quality step.
What features does Mahindra XEV 9S Pack Two Above add/upgrades over Pack One Above?
Pack Two Above leans into luxury with Harman Kardon audio, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS tech.

XEV 9S Pack Three Model

Who Should Buy The Mahindra XEV 9S Pack Three Model?
Pack Three moves to ₹27.35 lakh from Pack Two Above's 79kWh at ₹25.45 lakh, a ₹1.9 lakh step that delivers arguably the most disproportionate return in the lineup.
The defining upgrade is Intelligent Adaptive Suspension, replacing the passive setup across all lower variants. On India's varied road surfaces, real-time adaptive damping produces a tangibly different experience than passive suspension.
Also, the full 5-radar ADAS suite arrives here, a major step from Pack Two Above's single radar, adding Highway Assist with driver-initiated auto lane changes, blind spot detection, front and rear cross-traffic alerts, and emergency evasive steering.
If semi-autonomous highway functionality is part of your driving use case, Pack Three is the minimum variant to consider.
Dual-zone climate control, ventilated rear seats, passive keyless entry, air purifier with PM 2.5 monitoring, ambient lighting, and a 7th knee airbag complete what is, for many buyers, the most complete value proposition in the XEV 9S range.
What features does Mahindra XEV 9S Pack Three add/upgrades over Pack Two Above?
Pack Three shifts the focus toward flagship territory with adaptive suspension, dual-zone climate control, powered rear comfort and expanded ADAS capability.
| Category | Specs |

XEV 9S Pack Three Above Top Model

Who Should Buy The Mahindra XEV 9S Pack Three Above Model?
Pack Three Above at ₹29.45 lakh is the right choice for buyers who want the XEV 9S to function as an unambiguous flagship, one that benchmarks against vehicles costing significantly more.
The ₹2.1 lakh over Pack Three is justified when its additions align with your priorities. The Vision X AR HUD changes how navigation information reaches you during drives, while remote full auto parking, operable from key fob or phone app, adds tangible convenience in congested urban environments.
EyeDentify occupant monitoring with in-car video calling speaks to buyers for whom the car also serves a professional function. Also, CapTouch switches and Night Trail carpet lamp are proper cabin differentiators.
Pack Three already handles every serious daily use case, due to the adaptive suspension, full 5-radar ADAS, ventilated rear seats, and dual-zone AC.
Meanwhile, Pack Three Above layers prestige technology over an already complete package. Buyers who use the AR HUD and remote parking daily should find these useful.
What features does Mahindra XEV 9S Pack Three Above add/upgrades over Pack Three?
The range-topping Pack Three Above centres around futuristic tech, adding an augmented reality HUD, self-parking capability and occupant monitoring systems.
