Honda has finally brought the ZR-V Hybrid to India, and it sits right at the top of the brand’s SUV lineup.

Positioned as a premium CBU import, the ZR-V combines hybrid performance, modern tech and a cleaner, more mature design than most flashy SUVs currently on sale.

Here are the five biggest highlights of Honda’s newest flagship SUV.

1. Honda’s New Flagship SUV for India

The ZR-V Hybrid will be sold as a completely built unit (CBU), which instantly places it in the premium category. Honda has already started accepting pre-bookings, while deliveries are scheduled to begin from July 2026.

Expected prices are likely to fall between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 50 lakh, putting it against SUVs like the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian.

2. Clean Yet Premium Exterior Design

Unlike many modern SUVs that rely on oversized grilles and excessive chrome, the ZR-V keeps things clean and classy. It gets sleek LED headlights with L-shaped DRLs, a black front grille, gloss-black body cladding and sporty dual exhaust outlets at the rear.

The India-spec model rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and also gets flush-style roof rails, giving it a sophisticated road presence without looking overdesigned.

3. Strong Hybrid Powertrain with Solid Performance

Powering the ZR-V is a 2.0-litre petrol engine paired with Honda’s dual-motor strong-hybrid setup. Combined output stands at 184hp and 315Nm, with power sent to the front wheels through an e-CVT gearbox.

Honda claims a 0-100kph time of around 8 seconds along with a top speed of 172 km/h. Despite its size and performance, the SUV delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.79 km/l, which is impressive for something in this segment.

4. Cabin Focuses on Practicality, Not Just Screens

Inside, the ZR-V gets a premium cabin with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver display. While the screens are not massive by current standards, Honda has wisely retained physical buttons and knobs for climate control, audio functions and drive modes.

Features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, powered front seats, ambient lighting, powered tailgate and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.

5. Safety and Comfort Get Equal Attention

Honda is offering the ZR-V with plenty of safety tech, including 8 airbags, a 360-degree camera, TPMS and Level-2 ADAS features.

The SUV also focuses heavily on passenger comfort with leatherette seats, dual-zone climate control, centre armrests for both rows and generous luggage space of up to 1,313 litres with the second-row seats folded down.

For buyers looking for a premium hybrid SUV that prioritises refinement, comfort and efficiency over outright flashiness, the Honda ZR-V could turn out to be a very interesting option in India’s growing premium SUV market.
