Engine, Performance and Mileage

The RV400 is driven by a 3 kW mid-drive electric motor, peaking at 5 kW, paired with a silent belt drive system for instant torque delivery. It achieves a top speed of 85 kmph in Sport mode, while Eco and Normal modes cap at 45 kmph and 65 kmph, respectively, optimizing efficiency. The 3.24 kWh lithium-ion battery offers a range of 150 km in Eco, 120 km in Normal, and 80 km in Sport, depending on riding conditions and load.

Charging takes 4.5 hours for a full charge or 3 hours to 75% using a standard 15A socket, with regenerative braking adding a slight boost to range. The onboard AI adjusts power output based on real-time data, ensuring consistent performance, while the swappable battery option (available with certain plans) eliminates downtime for frequent riders.

Design

The Revolt RV400 embraces a street-naked aesthetic with a futuristic edge, blending practicality with bold styling. Its hexagonal LED headlamp, integrated with daytime running lights, sits prominently upfront, complemented by a sleek LED taillight at the rear for enhanced visibility. The faux fuel tank conceals the battery, maintaining a streamlined silhouette, while the single-piece seat adds to its minimalist vibe.

We appreciate the attention to detail in the matte paint finishes—options like Cosmic Black, Rebel Red, and the newer Lunar Green give it a vibrant personality. The lightweight aluminum subframe and swingarm contribute to its structural integrity, and the exposed mechanicals lend a rugged, purposeful look that appeals to urban riders.

competition

In the electric two-wheeler space, the RV400 faces off against the Tork Kratos R, Oben Rorr, and Ather 450X. The Kratos R boasts a stronger 9 kW motor and a 180 km range but comes at a higher cost. The Oben Rorr matches its power credentials with premium styling, yet its pricing and limited service network lag behind.

The Ather 450X, more a performance scooter, excels in tech but lacks the RV400’s motorcycle form factor. Compared to petrol options like the Bajaj Pulsar 150, the RV400 wins on running costs (around ₹0.25/km) and eco-credentials, though it cedes ground on outright acceleration and refueling convenience.

final verdict

The Revolt RV400 emerges as a practical and innovative electric motorcycle, tailored for India’s urban landscape. Its blend of AI-driven features, respectable range, and lightweight handling makes it a strong contender for commuters and eco-conscious riders. While it doesn’t chase raw performance, its low operating costs, swappable battery ecosystem, and smart tech integration offer compelling value. For those ready to embrace electric mobility without breaking the bank, the RV400 is a worthy option.
