KTM, an Austrian motorcycle brand owned partly by Bajaj Auto, has completely transformed the premium entry-level performance bike market in India. KTM India started operations in 2012 with the launch of the Duke 200 and has since expanded its portfolio to include fully-faired RC models, adventure-focused bikes, and streetfighters ranging from 125cc to 390cc. These motorcycles are manufactured in India and exported globally, making the country a critical manufacturing hub for KTM.
The brand is known for its sharp styling, high-revving engines, lightweight chassis, and segment-leading tech like TFT displays, ride modes, traction control, and slipper clutches — features rarely seen in its price range. KTM motorcycles are focused on performance and handling, appealing to serious enthusiasts and track-day riders alike. The price range typically starts at ₹1.7 lakh and goes up to ₹4.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
KTM’s Indian portfolio includes the Duke series (125, 200, 250, 390), RC series, and Adventure bikes like the 250 and 390 Adventure. The aggressive ergonomics, race-bred DNA, and explosive acceleration make KTM a leader in the sub-500cc premium bike space. KTM's future product strategy also includes exploring electric mobility, in collaboration with Bajaj’s EV division.
