KTM 490 Duke Overview

The 490 Duke is being developed on an all-new 490cc parallel-twin platform, built in collaboration with Bajaj Auto at the Chakan plant near Pune. Eexpected to produce somewhere between 55 and 60 hp with around 45–50 Nm of torque. Spy shots point to WP Apex front forks (likely 43mm inverted, identical spec to what the 390 Duke carries), a WP Apex rear monoshock, and what appears to be a larger front disc than the 390.

The trellis frame has been revised to accommodate the wider twin-cylinder packaging. Feature expectations from credible reports include ride-by-wire, traction control, cornering dual-channel ABS, quickshifter and a full-colour TFT display in line with what the 390 Duke already offers, which sets a high baseline.
