From the quirky Honda Wave 100 to the 17000 RPM ZX-25, We wish these bikes were sold here for some real variety and fun.
Honda Wave 100

The Honda Wave 100 features a 97cc air-cooled, SOHC single-cylinder engine producing 7 hp and 7.3 Nm torque, with a 4-speed semi-automatic transmission and 62 kmpl efficiency. Weighing 101 kg, it offers telescopic front forks and a rear swingarm for nimble city rides.
It is manufactured in Thailand and Indonesia, and sold across Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam and the Philippines, and parts of Latin America. It is not sold in India due to Honda India's focus on BS6-compliant local models like the Activa and Shine, plus homologation costs for underbone motorcycles.
The Wave 100 costs THB 45,000 in Thailand, translating to ₹1.26 lakh.
Suzuki Smash 110

The Suzuki Smash 110 packs a 109cc air-cooled SOHC single-cylinder engine with 8.5 hp and 8.7 Nm, a 4-speed semi-auto transmission, and exceptional 65-75 kmpl economy. At 99 kg, it features drum brakes and alloy wheels for agile handling.
Produced in Indonesia, it's a bestseller in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. Reasons for its Indian absence include Suzuki's emphasis on its existing commuter two-wheelers like the Access 125, plus adaptation costs for local fuel quality.
It costs PHP 61,900 in the Philippines, roughly ₹97,000.
Suzuki GSX-R125

Featuring a 124cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder producing 15 hp and 11.5 Nm, the GSX-R125 includes a 6-speed box, 45 kmpl, and 134 kg weight with inverted forks and ABS.
Built in Thailand, it's available in Europe and Japan. Emissions tuning for BS6 and premium positioning above Gixxer 150 keep it out of India.
Costing €5,500 in Europe, its price in India would amount to ₹5.77 lakh.
Honda CB125R

The CB125R's 125cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder outputs 15 hp and 11.6 Nm, paired with a 6-speed transmission, 50 kmpl, and 130 kg kerb with Showa USD forks and radial ABS.
Manufactured in Italy, it's sold across Europe. Expensive Euro5 tech and Honda's CB150R focus block its India entry. Its €4,900 price in Europe translates to ₹5.14 lakh in India.

Suzuki GSX-250R

This 248cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin DOHC delivers 25 hp and 23.4 Nm, with a 6-speed gearbox, 33 kmpl, and weighing 181 kg, featuring inverted forks and ABS.
Built in China, it's sold in the US, Europe, and Asia. Its high costs and threat from the Kawasaki Ninja 300 would sideline it in India.
Priced at $5,099 in the US, in India it would amount to ₹4.58 lakh.
Honda CBR250RR

The CBR250RR features a 249cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin DOHC producing 41 hp and 25 Nm, using a 6-speed quickshifter. It weighs 168 kg, and returns 30 kmpl.
It is manufactured in Indonesia, and sold in Asia. High CKD costs and Honda’s focus on the CBR300R prevent a launch in India.
Priced at IDR 72,700,000 (Indonesian Rupiah), it would cost ₹3.92 lakh.
Honda CL250

Powered by a 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder with 24 hp at 8,000 rpm and 22.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm, the Honda CL250 is a scrambler, offering a six-speed box, telescopic forks, and weighing 172 kg.
Produced in Japan and China, it targets the European and Asian markets. Honda's commuter focus in India ignores the scrambler niche.
Priced at JPY 700,000 ($4,700 or ₹3,95,000) in Japan, it would cost ₹4.06 lakh in India.
KTM 1390 Super Adventure R

The KTM 1390 Super Adventure R's 1,350cc V-twin roars with 173 hp at 9,500 rpm and 145 Nm at 8,000 rpm, boasting a six-speed semi-auto, WP Xplor suspension (220mm travel), and 219 kg weight.
Assembled in Austria, it sells in Europe and the US. Massive import duties and low volumes for 1,300cc+ in India exclude it.
At €20,700 (₹21.70 lakh) in Europe, it targets elite off-roaders, redefining high-end ADVs..
Yamaha Ténéré 700

The Yamaha Ténéré 700's 689cc parallel-twin pumps 72 hp at 9,000 rpm and 68 Nm at 6,500 rpm, with a six-speed box, KYB forks (210mm travel), and 204 kg rally frame for desert adventures.
Built in France, it is sold in Europe, Australia, and Japan. Yamaha's adventure segment gap in India, plus CBU costs, delays it.
Priced at €11,799 (₹12.37 lakh) in Europe, it could have shattered the middleweight segment in India, rivalling the Himalayan with its superior off-road prowess.
Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE

Featuring a 1,037cc V-twin with 107 hp at 8,500 rpm and 100 Nm at 6,000 rpm, the Suzuki V-Strom 1050DE includes a six-speed quickshifter, adjustable suspension (170mm travel), and weighs 247 kg.
Produced in Japan, it is sold in Europe and the US. Suzuki's India focus on commuters skips premium ADVs due to pricing.
At $16,199 (₹14.55 lakh), it blends Suzuki’s reliability with dirt capability.
Moto Guzzi V85 TT 850

The Moto Guzzi V85 TT's 853cc air-cooled V-twin delivers 76 hp at 7,500 rpm and 82 Nm at 6,000 rpm, with a six-speed shaft drive, 41mm forks (170mm travel), and weighs 208 kg, sporting a retro scrambler vibe.
Crafted in Italy, it is sold in Europe and the US. Its niche appeal and import costs sideline it in India.
At €11,990 (₹12.56 lakh), its transverse V-twin character appeals to style seekers in the retro ADV space.
Husqvarna Norden 901

The Husqvarna Norden 901's 889cc parallel-twin belts 105 hp at 8,000 rpm and 100 Nm at 6,500 rpm, boasting a six-speed quickshifter, WP Apex suspension (220mm travel), and weighs 204 kg.
Built in Austria, it is popular in Europe and the US. High CBU pricing and KTM overlap block an India launch.
At $13,999 (₹12.58 lakh), its rally heritage promises middleweight mastery, and would have rivaled the KTM 890 ADV if localized under ₹12 lakh.
Ninja ZX-25R
This is one of the most insane motorcycles ever made thanks to a 17000 RPM redline. It has enough power for our streets and highways and has a soundtrack that would be heard kilometers away.
Kawasaki does sell the Ninja 400 RR but it lacks the character and "I want this even it costs my kidney" factor that this 250-cc engine has. The only reason I think is hiding the Kawasaki back is the dang price which would be around 9 lakhs inclusive duty, buy a z900 instead, right?
