Yamaha has officially announced the XSR155 for the Japanese market, with sales beginning on 30 June. It is priced at ¥539,000, which is roughly ₹3.26 lakh at current rates - considerably more expensive than what Indian buyers pay.
The Japanese model genuinely looks more stylish with bronze accents on many of its body elements such as the fuel tank's side, which is outlined with bronze pinstriping and shows off a red block under the white Yamaha text badge compared to the plain silver badge on the Indian model.
Lower down, it rolls on bronze-painted alloy wheels, that goes on both the rims and the much more premium and different looking spokes. This bronze makeup gives it a distinct visual contrast to our model, which plays it safe with an all dark styling - regardless of color chosen, making the look a bit boring.

Another noticeable styling gap sits just below the ribbed flat seat, where the bike's drilled side plates also get the bronze accents. The Indian model blacks these identical plates out entirely, losing that custom-built, mechanical texture in the process.
Color option wise, the Japanese model gets three shades Black, Green, and Silver against India's five.
The powertrain whereas remains identical as both models rely on the 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine and share the exact same drilled exhaust heat shield.
However, the Japanese model with its cosmetic shift specifically the bronze wheels, contrasting side plates, and vintage tank graphics majorly give the bike a much more premium look.
If an update comes in India, lets hope Yamaha India bring these exact or even much more exciting styling for the bike.
