Simple Energy Wave Electric Scooter to Launch on September 2

Simple Energy has officially revealed that its upcoming family scooter will be called the Simple Wave, with the launch set for September 2. The name itself puts to rest months of speculation around the "Arrive" name that had been circulating based on earlier trademark filings.

The name Wave is deliberate. Simple Energy says it draws from dolphin movement and hydrodynamic principles, meant to reflect smooth, effortless everyday travel rather than the outright performance identity of the One and Ultra.

Wave Takes a More Practical Design

Everything Simple has sold so far sits in the Rs 1.6 to 2.35 lakh range and is built around performance and long claimed range. The Wave targets a much larger and more price-sensitive audience, with an expected price of around Rs 1.3 lakh.

The design reflects that shift. Spy shots and patent image show a rounded, conventional silhouette with an upright riding position, a long flat single-piece seat comfortable enough for two adults, a generously sized floorboard, front storage cubby, and centre stand. Up front, wide LED DRLs run across the top with headlamps mounted lower on the apron.

What Is Confirmed Under the Skin

The Wave uses a telescopic fork, dual rear shocks, front disc with rear drum, and a mid-mounted motor driving the rear wheel via chain drive. Simple Energy builds everything in-house: chassis, battery, motor, and software, and is the first Indian OEM to both commercially manufacture heavy rare-earth-free electric motors and offer a lifetime warranty on the motor and battery.

Battery capacity and range figures have not been disclosed. Based on earlier leaks, a range of around 180 km is expected. Rivals at launch will likely include the Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak, Vida VX2, and TVS Orbiter.
