So far, four FFVs are available in India: the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 FFV, Hero HF Deluxe Flex Fuel, Hero Splendor+ Flex Fuel, and the Yamaha FZ Blue Flex. The FZ Blue Flex is the latest addition here.
The launch of E85-compatible motorcycles is expected to accelerate in the near future. We will update this article with more flex-fuel bikes as and when they are launched.
The price of E85 flex fuel currently stands at around Rs 82 per litre in Delhi, making it significantly cheaper than regular petrol. With more E85 fuel stations expected to be operational by the end of 2026, accessibility is likely to improve for flex-fuel vehicle owners.
However, lower fuel prices come with a trade-off.
According to Autocar India's tests, E85 resulted in nearly a 30 percent drop in fuel efficiency compared to petrol. In practical terms, if your current bike delivers around 30 kmpl on petrol, you can expect fuel economy to fall to roughly 21-22 kmpl when running on E85.
In the meanwhile, you can read our guide to flex-fuel vehicles in India or check out the upcoming flex-fuel cars in the country.
