Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 Launches Tomorrow, Here's What to Expect

The Himalayan 411 was discontinued when the 450 arrived in 2023, leaving a clear gap below it. The Himalayan 440 launches on 4 September 2026 to fill it, expected at around Rs 2.50 lakh ex-showroom.
What the 440 Actually Is
The Himalayan 440 is not a direct evolution of the 411. It is built on the Scram 440's LS440 platform, sharing the same 443cc, air/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine. Power figures are expected to carry over from the Scram at 25.4hp and 34Nm, up marginally from the 411's 24.5hp and 32Nm.

The gearbox moves from a 5-speed to a 6-speed, which should take the edge off the 411's known weakness at highway speeds.
The design carries over almost entirely from the Himalayan 411, which should please existing fans of the bike.
How It Differs From the Scram 440
The front wheel is where the two bikes part ways. The Scram runs a 19-inch unit, while the Himalayan 440 is expected to get 21-inch wire-spoked, tubed-tyre wheel, better suited to off-road use. Longer suspension travel at both ends is also expected over the Scram.
Note that the 411's five-dial cockpit is gone, and there is no tachometer, same as the Scram 440. The Tripper pod enables Google Maps-based turn-by-turn navigation.

The bike has already been spotted at a dealership stockyard, suggesting stock is in place and purchases could begin on launch day itself. It will compete with the Yezdi Adventure, Suzuki V-Strom SX, and TVS Apache RTX 300.
