Swiggy-Hero MotoCorp Tie-Up Lets Delivery Partners Buy Two-Wheelers With Up to 90% Financing

Swiggy and Hero MotoCorp have now announced a tie-up to make this more structured for delivery partners across Food Marketplace and Instamart.

For delivery partners, a two-wheeler is essential to the job, but arranging the vehicle and financing can involve dealing with multiple dealerships and lenders.

How the Purchase Works

Riders can shortlist a preferred Hero model through the Swiggy app, with the purchase completed at a Hero dealership. An API integration between the two platforms carries the vehicle and financing details from the app to the showroom, so riders don't have to start from scratch when they walk in.

Financing comes with a loan-to-value ratio of up to 90%, meaning a partner can buy a two-wheeler with a small upfront amount. Specific interest rate figures have not been disclosed, though both companies describe them as competitive.

Road Safety Training Included

Hero MotoCorp will also conduct road safety training for Swiggy riders across India under its Ride Safe India CSR programme. Sessions blend digital learning with instructor-led practical training, covering hazard anticipation, safe riding, traffic rules, and emergency response.

The partnership was marked with an inaugural training session at Hero MotoCorp's Traffic Training Park in Gurugram, where participants received a full-face helmet, reflective safety vest, first-aid kit, and a certificate.

What This Partnership Means For Riders

Ride Safe India has been running for years through Hero's network of traffic training parks, but this is the first time it is being directed at a specific gig workforce at scale. Swiggy paid out over Rs 5,000 crore to delivery partners last year alone, which gives a sense of the network size this initiative now reaches.

Whether the pricing and rates on offer beat what a rider could access independently is an open question. The practical convenience of managing the entire purchase through the Swiggy app, though, is an advantage for someone working full shifts with limited time to visit multiple dealerships or banks.
