Jawa 42 FJ All Stars Edition Launched with Six New Colours, Starting at Rs 2.01 Lakh

Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has launched the All Stars edition of the 42 FJ, bringing six new colour options to the 334cc retro roadster. Prices start at Rs 2.01 lakh and go up to Rs 2.15 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, a hike of Rs 6,992 to Rs 10,992 over the outgoing version. The mechanicals are unchanged.

The new shades replace the outgoing Aurora Green Matte and the Deep Black Matte range.

How Each Colour Actually Looks

The Chrome is the standout of the lot. A bright silver tank with a large military star and the "Est. 1929" script set against an all-black body. It reads as the most classically Jawa of the six, like someone polished up a 1970s machine and did not overdo it.

The Nebula Blue pairs deep navy on the tank sides and fenders with a silver upper tank, a proper two-tone that looks more mature than flashy. Aurora Green goes for a muted olive on the same layout; the military star badge on the side panel suits the green better than almost any other colour here.

All Stars Red puts vivid red on the tank sides and rear panel against a silver upper tank, making it the most eye-catching of the three two-tones. Of the two Matte Blacks, the Black Clad is all-black with barely visible dark graphics, essentially a shadow of a motorcycle. The Red Clad breaks the monotony with a large red oval on the tank and a bold "42" graphic, giving it more of a street-fighter edge than the others.

What's Under the Tank

The 42 FJ continues with its 334cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC single-cylinder engine making 29.17 PS and 29.62 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slip clutch.

Braking comes from a 320mm front disc and 240mm rear disc, both with floating callipers and dual-channel ABS. The bike rides on 100/90-18 front and 140/70-17 rear tyres, with 41mm telescopic forks up front and twin rear shocks with five-step preload adjustment. Seat height is 797mm and ground clearance is 175mm.

Braking is handled by 320mm front and 240mm rear discs with dual-channel ABS. Suspension comprises 41mm telescopic forks and twin rear shocks with five-step preload adjustment. It runs on 100/90-18 front and 140/70-17 rear tyres, with a 797mm seat height and 175mm ground clearance.

Features include a fully digital offset speedometer, LED lighting throughout, brushed aluminium cladding, and swept-up twin exhausts.

Given that the only change is cosmetic and the price has gone up by nearly Rs 11,000 at the top end, buyers already on the fence may find this a harder sell. That said, the Chrome in particular looks different from anything else at this price point in India.

Rivals

The Jawa 42 FJ All Stars competes with the Royal Enfield Classic 350 from Rs 2.14 lakh, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 from Rs 1.37 lakh, and the Triumph Speed T4, all ex-showroom.
