Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Launched at Rs 3.58 Lakh: All You Need to Know

Royal Enfield has updated the Continental GT 650, with prices ranging from Rs 3.58 lakh to Rs 3.82 lakh (ex-showroom). The iconic café racer finally gets some modern touches, including an all-LED headlamp, LED turn signals, and a handy Type-C USB charger.

While the headlight retains its classic round shape, it now runs full LED across the position light, low beam, and high beam, though the tail lamp sticks to halogen.

The new aluminium switch cubes also replace the older units, and a fast-charging Type-C port sits near the left switchgear. The familiar twin-pod analogue cluster with its LCD inset carries over unchanged.

Engine and Hardware

The 648cc air and oil-cooled parallel-twin engine is untouched, still putting out 47.4 PS and 52.3 Nm. It remains paired with a slick 6-speed gearbox and a slipper and assist clutch.

Braking comes from a 320 mm front disc and 240 mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as standard. Also, the steel double cradle frame, 41 mm telescopic front forks, and twin gas-charged rear shocks all carry over.

The bike continues to tip the scales at a 214 kg kerb weight, while its 12.5-litre fuel tank offers enough range for roughly 300 km between fill-ups.

Variants and Colours

The Continental GT 650 is offered in three variants, and four colour options: Rocker Red, Apex Grey, British Racing Green, and Mr. Clean. The Standard and Chrome variants ride on traditional spoke wheels, while the Blacked Out offers the practicality of cast alloy wheels and tubeless tyres.

On the visual front, Rocker Red pairs a solid red tank with white racing stripes, alloy wheels, and a fully blacked-out engine and exhaust. Apex Grey takes a similar modern approach, blending a silver-grey tank with a sharp red-orange stripe.

British Racing Green swaps back to spoke wheels and a chrome-finished engine, showing off a deep green tank lined with white pinstripes. Finally, Mr. Clean sits at the top of the range with a black and silver tank, gold lettering, and the full chrome treatment.

Price and Rivals

The 2026 Continental GT 650 is priced by colour. Rocker Red and British Racing Green share the entry point at Rs 3.58 lakh, while Apex Grey sits at Rs 3.81 lakh. Mr. Clean tops the range at Rs 3.87 lakh, all ex-showroom.

Competition wise, the Triumph Thruxton 400 is the closest café racer rival at Rs 2.75 lakh, but it runs a smaller 349cc single-cylinder engine with noticeably less torque. The Kawasaki Z650RS and Honda CB650R are fellow parallel twins but sit well above Rs 6 lakh.

That leaves the GT 650 in an odd but comfortable spot. No other twin-cylinder café racer in India matches its price point right now.
