BMW is set to expand its 450cc family with two new motorcycles, the F 450 R and F 450 RR.
These models are likely to make their first public appearance at EICMA 2026 in Milan in November, possibly as concepts or close-to-production versions.
Both the F 450 R and F 450 RR will share the same platform as the upcoming F 450 GS adventure bike. BMW had earlier discontinued the G 310 R and G 310 GS in India, and these new 450cc models are set to replace them, aiming to bring back strong sales volumes with better performance and features.

It is interesting to note that while some manufacturers are downsizing their engine capacities below 350cc to take advantage of the updated GST norms in India, BMW has chosen the opposite path. The company has replaced its earlier 310cc series with the more powerful 450cc lineup, clearly focusing on better performance and a stronger premium appeal rather than just tax benefits.

Both motorcycles will be powered by the same 420cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine from the F 450 GS, producing around 48 bhp and 43 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. However, each model may get a different tuning to match their character.
The F 450 R will be the naked street bike in the family, offering upright ergonomics and positioned as a more affordable roadster. It will likely be priced below the F 450 GS.
On the other side, the F 450 RR will be the fully faired supersport version, featuring clip-on handlebars, a more aggressive riding posture, and sharp, sporty styling. The bike is expected to compete directly with the Aprilia RS 457 and Kawasaki Ninja 500 in the Indian market. A test mule of a similar fully faired 450cc machine has already been spotted testing on Indian roads.

Features on both models are likely to include a bi-directional quickshifter, multiple ride modes, traction control, a TFT colour display, and turn-by-turn navigation.
For India, just like the F 450 GS, the F 450 R and F 450 RR too will be manufactured locally by TVS at the Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu, helping keep costs down and make the bikes more affordable.
The F 450 GS is already scheduled to launch this April with an expected starting price of around Rs 5 lakh.
