Skoda India will open pre-bookings for the new Kodiaq RS on June 22, ahead of its market launch later this month. The performance-focused SUV will be the first Skoda SUV in India to wear the RS badge and will arrive as a fully imported model. Only 50 units have been allocated for the initial batch, making it one of the most exclusive Skoda models to be offered in the country.

Powering the Kodiaq RS is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 265hp and 400Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. Compared to the standard Kodiaq sold in India, the RS delivers an additional 60hp and 80Nm. The SUV is capable of accelerating from 0-100kph in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 231kph.

The Kodiaq RS also benefits from performance upgrades such as larger brakes, slotted brake discs and RS-specific chassis tuning. 

On the outside, it features unique RS bumpers, gloss-black styling elements, a full-width illuminated grille, 20-inch alloy wheels and red brake calipers. The cabin gets RS sports seats with integrated headrests, red contrast stitching, a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a premium Canton sound system. 

Skoda has indicated that additional units could be allocated to India if demand exceeds the initial 50-unit allocation.
