Mercedes-Benz has launched the new AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ in India at Rs 1.45 crore (ex-showroom).
This plug-in hybrid performance sedan brings together strong power, luxury, and efficiency in one impressive package.
Here are its top five standout highlights.
1. Sporty AMG Design and Presence
The E 53 Hybrid looks aggressive and premium, sporting an illuminated AMG grille, wider fenders, a sporty front bumper with large air intakes, a rear diffuser, boot-lid spoiler, and four circular exhaust tips. 20-inch AMG alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and Digital Light headlamps complete the look.
It is available in six attractive colours, including Polar White, Obsidian Black, and Nautical Blue. The design clearly signals its performance roots while keeping the elegance of the E-Class.
2. Powerful Plug-in Hybrid Performance

Under the hood of the car, sits a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine paired with an electric motor. Together, they deliver up to 604-612 hp and 750 Nm of torque, depending on the mode. It is paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
With the AMG Dynamic Plus package and Race Start, it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of up to 280 km/h.

3. Impressive Electric-Only Range
One of the biggest advantages of the E 53 Hybrid is its ability to run purely on electric power.
The 21.2 kWh usable battery offers more than 100 km of electric range (WLTP). It can reach speeds of up to 140 km/h in EV mode, making it perfect for city commutes without using any petrol.
The battery supports fast charging, going from 10 to 80 per cent in about 20 minutes with a 60 kW DC charger. This blend of performance and practicality makes it stand out among high-performance sedans.
4. Luxurious and Tech-Loaded Cabin

Inside, the cabin feels special with AMG sports seats, premium materials, and red contrast stitching.
The highlight is the MBUX Superscreen setup with multiple displays for the driver, infotainment, and passenger. It includes AMG-specific displays for performance data and battery status.
A 17-speaker Burmester 4D sound system with Dolby Atmos delivers superb audio. Rear passengers get sunblinds and good comfort, while features like ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, and advanced driver assistance systems add to the luxury experience.

5. Advanced Handling and Driving Dynamics
The car comes with AMG Ride Control adaptive suspension and active rear-axle steering as standard. The rear wheels turn up to 2.5 degrees for better manoeuvrability at low speeds and improved stability at high speeds.
Multiple driving modes, including Electric, Sport+, and Individual, let drivers choose the right balance between comfort and performance. The 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system and optional limited-slip differential provide excellent grip and control on varying road conditions.
Overall, with its strong hybrid system, rich features, and sporty character, the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4Matic+ is a smart choice for those of you who want thrilling performance without sacrificing daily usability and efficiency.
