Powertrain and Performance
While Tesla usually remains discreet about their technical details, the global spec 2026 Tesla Model Y is expected to feature a 64 kWh battery pack that works in tandem with a rear-mounted electric motor churning out 299 horsepower.
The India-spec model boasts a WLTP range of up to 500 km. As for its performance, the 2026 Model Y can sprint from 0-100 kph in 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 201 kph.
The flagship L Premium AWD offers a colossal 681 km of WLTP range.
Charging capability remains one of the strongest suits of the 2026 Model Y. Tesla claims 238 km of driving range in only 15 minutes of charging when connected to a Supercharger with a peak DC fast charging speed rated at up to 175 kW.

Inside, the 2026 Tesla Model Y features an All-black or Zen Grey interior theme across the range with seating for five occupants. The maximum storage capacity is claimed to be 2138 litres, which is huge for its segment.
The Model Y’s entry-level variant receives an all-new 16-inch primary infotainment touchscreen at the front and a smaller but intuitive 8.0-inch touchscreen for the rear passengers. The 2026 Model Y is the first Tesla to incorporate the large 16.0-inch touchscreen making its debut in India.
Like every other Tesla, the on-board functions are controlled via the large touchscreen, which is claimed to be faster and more responsive than ever.
Some of the standard features include a powered tailgate, LED ambient lighting, wireless charging, acoustic glass, ventilated front seats, power reclining and folding rear seats, panoramic glass sunroof, and more.
