Tata Motors is working on a refreshed version of its popular entry-level hatchback, the Tiago.
A heavily camouflaged test mule of the hatchback's upcoming facelift was recently spotted undergoing road tests on highways in Maharashtra, including stretches of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
Spy shots show that the facelift will bring noticeable styling updates while keeping the car's familiar character.
The front end appears significantly revised, with new stretched back headlamps like the bigger Altroz, a new bumper design, and an updated grille.

The side profile and overall silhouette look largely unchanged, with new alloy wheels likely to be the only noticeable change.
At the rear, the visible changes include new taillamps with both LED and halogen elements, and a reworked bumper.

Inside the cabin, minor layout changes are expected along with new upholstery. We expect Tata to add a more advanced driver information display and the latest infotainment system from its recent models for better connectivity and features.
On the powertrain side, the Tiago facelift is expected to carry over its current 1.2-litre petrol (85 bhp, 113 Nm) and CNG (74 bhp, 96.5 Nm) options, both available with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT.

Though Tata introduced a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine on the Punch facelift recently, its unlikely to make its way into the Tiago.
Safety could see a significant improvement with standard six airbags, up from only two (dual front) on the current model. Expect a strong BNCAP rating.
The Tiago facelift is likely to launch by the end of 2026, and the Tiago EV should undergo similar enhancements shortly after.
Prices are expected to rise slightly compared to the current model due to the added features and design improvements, though it should remain competitive in the entry-level hatchback segment.
