Tata Motors Cars and SUVs to Get Costlier by Up to Rs 25,000 from 1 September 2026

If you have been sitting on the fence about buying a Tata car or SUV, now is a good time to move. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. has confirmed a price increase of up to Rs 25,000 across its entire portfolio, covering both petrol and electric variants, effective 1 September 2026. The exact amount will vary by model and variant.
Why Is Tata Hiking Prices?
Tata has cited rising input costs and sustained inflationary pressures as the primary reasons. Tata says it has been absorbing a significant chunk of these increases, but the pressure has reached a point where a portion has to be passed on to buyers.

This is not an unusual explanation in the current market. Maruti Suzuki had already hiked prices across its Arena and Nexa range from August 2026, and Hyundai followed with a September announcement of its own. Tata's move makes it a broader industry-wide revision rather than an isolated one.
Which Cars Are Affected?
The hike applies to every model in Tata's current line-up. That includes the Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Sierra, Harrier, and Safari, along with their respective EV variants where they exist. The Altroz is the one model in the range without an EV counterpart on sale.
The festive season typically kicks off in October, but revised prices will already be in effect by then. If buying before 1 September is feasible, it is worth calling your nearest dealer to confirm whether the current price can still be locked in.
