Skoda Kylaq Hits 50,000 Production Units Milestone

Skoda Auto India has marked a major achievement, having rolled out 50,000 units of the Kylaq at its Chakan plant near Pune. This milestone comes just after a year of the compact SUV’s launch. The Kylaq has helped drive the company's sales growth in 2025 by 36%, thanks to increased production capacity (by 30%) and more local parts used in manufacturing.

The Kylaq is built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, made exclusively for India. It is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 115 HP and 178 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

It stands out with its sharp looks, sporting LED headlights, DRLs, and tail lights as standard. Inside, it offers fabric or leather seats, a cooled glove box, and rear air vents. Features include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless phone Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8-inch digital driver display, and steering-mounted controls. Safety is strong with essentials like six airbags, ESP, and parking sensors offered across the range, complemented by a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.

Skoda recently added two new variants to the Kylaq range - the Classic Plus Automatic and Prestige Plus with both manual and automatic options. The Classic Plus Automatic is priced at ₹9.25 lakh and brings an automatic option, along with a sunroof, cruise control and rain-sensing wipers, all at a much lower price point. The Prestige Plus, priced at ₹11.99 lakh for the manual and ₹12.99 lakh for the automatic, introduces powered front seats. 

The Kylaq is now priced from ₹7.59 lakh to ₹12.99 lakh. It competes against rival turbo petrol compact SUVs such as the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet.
