Quick Read - MG SELECT introduces BaaS for Cyberster and M9, priced at Rs 72.49 lakh and Rs 69.99 lakh, with Rs 8/km battery rental, saving up to Rs 10.01 lakh upfront.
MG SELECT, the luxury arm of JSW MG Motor India, has introduced Battery-as-a-Service pricing for the Cyberster and M9, letting buyers purchase the vehicle without the battery pack and pay on a per-kilometre basis instead.
Under the BaaS structure, the Cyberster is priced at Rs 72.49 lakh with a Rs 8 per km battery rental, while the M9 starts at Rs 69.99 lakh on the same terms. Both prices are introductory. Without BaaS, the Cyberster retails at Rs 82.50 lakh and the M9 at Rs 79.95 lakh.
| Model | BaaS Price | Standard Price | Upfront Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| MG Cyberster | Rs 72.49 lakh + Rs 8 per km | Rs 82.50 lakh | Rs 10.01 lakh |
| MG M9 | Rs 69.99 lakh + Rs 8 per km | Rs 79.95 lakh | Rs 9.96 lakh |

The Cyberster is a dual-motor AWD roadster with 510 PS, a 77kWh battery, and a 0-100 km/h claim of 3.2 seconds. The M9 is a luxury MPV with a 90kWh pack, Presidential Seats, Level 2 ADAS, and certified 5-star EURO NCAP and ANCAP ratings.
MG SELECT retails through 15 Experience Centres across 14 cities.
BaaS cuts the upfront ask by around Rs 10 lakh on both cars, which is a meaningful reduction at this price point. Whether it works out cheaper depends entirely on annual mileage.
