MG Hector Facelift to be Unveiled on December 15

MG Motor’s popular SUV, the Hector, is about to get another facelift and is set to be unveiled on December 15, 2025. This update comes at a good time as the SUV market is growing rapidly. 

Redesigned Exterior 

The Hector could sport a slightly sharper exterior design. The front grille carries over the same shape, but now gets a honeycomb pattern with thick chrome lines, giving it a fresh, aggressive face. The MG logo sits right in the centre, as revealed in the teaser. 

The headlamps continue the split design, with the LED DRLs blending into the grille. The front and rear bumpers could see some tweaks as well, with new skid plates for a rugged touch. At the back, expect minor tweaks to the bumper and LED taillights with updated inner lighting patterns. 

The side profile will remain largely unchanged, with the same body shape, roof rails, and chrome accents. New alloy wheels, likely 19 inches, are expected. 

A new shade - Celadon Blue will be on offer as well, joining the existing colour options. This shade is already available in the MG Windsor EV.

These updates make the Hector feel modern without losing its family-friendly size. It still seats five comfortably, and seven in the MG Hector Plus, which is also expected to get a revamp.

Feature Loaded Interior

Step inside, and things feel upgraded but familiar. The 14-inch portrait touchscreen remains the highlight. It now runs smoothly with up to 10GB of RAM for quick apps and menus. The interface looks cleaner and easier to use.

New gesture controls let you swipe or pinch the screen to adjust the AC fan or music volume. No more fumbling with buttons while driving. Seats get ventilated options, possibly for front and back rows, to beat the heat.

Safety suite is expected to carry over, with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Hill-Hold Control, ISOFIX seat mounts, and three-point seatbelts for all passengers. Top-end variants will continue getting features like 360-degree surround view and Level 2 ADAS. The overall cabin layout will likely stay the same.

Same Powerful Powertrains

Powertrain options remain the same. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit producing 141 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque is paired to a six-speed manual or CVT automatic. 

The Fiat-sourced Multijet 2.0-litre turbo diesel stays punchy at 170 PS and 350 Nm, mated to a six-speed manual.

Price and Rivals

MG has not shared prices yet, but expect them to start close to the current model's range, around ₹14 lakh to ₹22 lakh, with a small bump for the additional changes. 

It will continue competing against rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Harrier, Tata Safari, and the Mahindra XUV7XO.
