Maruti Wagon R Facelift Spied Testing With New Head and Tail Lights

Maruti Suzuki's Wagon R facelift in CNG has been spotted testing on Indian roads under heavy camouflage. The current model has been on sale largely unchanged since the 2022 update.

What the Spy Shots Reveal

The CNG test mule shows a revised front fascia with a new headlamp cluster alongside a redesigned grille and bumper. At the rear, the taillights and bumper also appear to have been reworked.

New alloy wheels are a possibility too, based on what peeks through the wrap on the side profile.

Not much of the interior is visible in the shots, but the facelift is expected to arrive with fresh upholstery and a larger central touchscreen, which would be a welcome step up from the current 7-inch unit that feels a bit dated by today's standards.

What Could Change Under the Bonnet

The bigger story here may not be the styling at all. The 1.2-litre K12N four-cylinder engine may get replaced by the Z12E three-cylinder unit, the same engine Maruti just introduced in the Baleno facelift. In the Baleno, the Z12E makes 83 hp and 112 Nm.

The 1.0-litre K10C is likely to continue as before. On the CNG front, Maruti could introduce an underbody tank arrangement, similar to what the Brezza CNG already offers, though it is not confirmed from the spy shots though.
