Renault Triber Turbo-CNG Spotted Testing in Pune

A Renault Triber carrying a CNG sticker on the rear glass and a Turbo badge on the tailgate was spotted in Pune. This is a separate development from the turbo petrol variant already confirmed for a September launch, and it suggests Renault is also working on a turbocharged CNG version of the Triber.

What to Expect

The CNG setup is expected to use a twin-cylinder arrangement, much like what Tata currently offers, which typically takes up less boot space than a single large tank. A manual gearbox is expected, and unlike aftermarket fitments, CNG is likely to come as a factory option here.

If it does launch, Renault would be the second manufacturer after Tata to offer a turbo-CNG powertrain in India.

The Triber currently starts at Rs 5.80 lakh (ex-showroom) on the naturally aspirated petrol, and a turbo-CNG version would bring more pulling power alongside lower running costs.
