Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Victoris ( not Escudo we previously believed), a new compact SUV that will serve as the flagship model in its Arena dealership network. Positioned between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara, the Victoris is aimed at both domestic buyers and international markets, with exports planned to more than 100 countries.
Fresh Design Language
The Victoris adopts a bold new styling direction for Maruti. Up front, it gets a wide chrome-accented grille, pixel-style LED DRLs above sharp LED headlamps, and a layered bumper with black inserts and skid plate detailing.

From the side, the SUV stands on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, with squared-off arches and roof rails that add to its stance. The floating-roof design and blacked-out mirrors give it a modern edge. At the rear, connected LED taillamps with a pixel pattern and a skid plate complete the look.

Features and Technology
Inside, the Victoris focuses on a premium user experience. Highlights include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and 64-colour ambient lighting. Automatic climate control with rear vents is also standard on higher trims.

In terms of safety and driver assistance, the Victoris raises the bar for Maruti. It comes with six airbags across all variants, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and ISOFIX mounts.
More importantly, it is Maruti’s first car to feature Level 2 ADAS, its archrival Creta recently got that! These features are supported by a 360-degree camera setup, giving the SUV a strong package for both convenience and safety.
5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

Victoris has achieved a 5-star rating under Bharat NCAP, scoring 31.66 out of 32 for adult protection and 43 out of 49 for child protection. This makes it the safest Maruti to date.
Crash tests covered front offset, side impact, and side pole impact. In these, chest and leg protection for the driver was rated adequate, while all other parameters scored good. Importantly, the rating applies to the entire variant line-up, as six airbags and other core safety features are offered as standard.
Powertrain Options
The Victoris shares its engines with the Grand Vitara. The first is a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine, producing 103 PS and 137 Nm of torque, available with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The second is a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid unit, delivering a combined output of 116 PS and 141 Nm of torque, paired with an e-CVT automatic. Lastly, there’s a 1.5-litre petrol-CNG version, which produces 88 PS and 121.5 Nm of torque, offered exclusively with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris delivers impressive fuel efficiency across its multiple powertrain options. The petrol manual returns a claimed mileage of 21.18 km/l, while the petrol automatic is slightly lower at 21.06 km/l. For buyers opting for the added capability of all-wheel drive, the figure stands at 19.07 km/l, which is still competitive for the segment.
The CNG manual variant excels with an outstanding 27.02 km/kg, making it the most economical choice for running costs. However, it is the strong-hybrid CVT that tops the chart with an ARAI-rated 28.65 km/l, positioning the Victoris as one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in its class.
In addition, Maruti is offering a factory CNG option, equipped with a twin-tank setup (Like Punch) mounted under the floor to free up more boot space making the Victoris the first Maruti model to adopt this layout.
Variants
The SUV is offered in six trims: Lxi, Vxi, Zxi, Zxi(O), Zxi Plus, and Zxi(O) Plus. This wide spread allows Maruti to target budget-conscious buyers while also catering to those seeking a premium feature set.
While the Victoris has been officially revealed, its market launch is expected later this September 2025. Prices will be announced closer to the launch date.
