Mahindra has been quietly working on several new launches and updates. While models like the XUV3XO EV, Thar facelift, and next-gen Bolero are in the spotlight, the Scorpio N is also getting a major feature upgrade. Launched in 2022, the new version will get a panoramic sunroof and advanced safety features. As reported by Carwale, These updates will likely be offered in a new variant, with prices expected to be announced closer to the festive season.
Big Tech Update
The Scorpio N has been one of Mahindra’s top-selling SUVs, and this latest update aims to keep it competitive. The current model only offers a single-pane electric sunroof on select variants. Now, Mahindra is expected to introduce a full panoramic sunroof, which is in high demand among buyers in this segment.
But the bigger highlight is the addition of Level-2 ADAS. This tech suite could offer key safety features like automatic emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, high beam assist, forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, and smart pilot assist. While the final list is unconfirmed, these features are already available in the Mahindra XUV700.
No Change in Engine Options
Mechanically, there are no major changes expected. The Scorpio N will continue with its current engine lineup, which includes a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. Both engines are offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options. Mahindra will also likely retain the 4WD option for select variants.
Global Markets
This update isn’t just important for Indian buyers. In countries like Australia, new vehicles must come with AEB as standard. Since the Scorpio N was approved for sale there without AEB until mid-2025, this updated version will help Mahindra continue selling the SUV in such markets. Earlier, the Scorpio N received a 0-star rating in Australia’s ANCAP crash tests due to the missing AEB, even though it got 5 stars in India’s GNCAP tests.
More Features Could Be Added
Alongside the sunroof and ADAS, Mahindra may also improve the Scorpio N’s feature list with additions like a larger 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system and rear ventilated seats for the six-seater version, though these are yet to be confirmed.
The updated Scorpio N variant is expected to launch in India around the festive season, with more safety and comfort features packed into a new variant.
