The Ntorq name has built quite a reputation for itself since its debut in 2018. With the 125cc model, TVS struck the right balance between youthful styling, zippy performance, and smart features. Now, after years of anticipation, the company is gearing up to take things a step further with the launch of the Ntorq 150 on September 1, 2025.

This new scooter will be TVS’s jab at established veterans from Yamaha and Aprilia.

Why the Ntorq 150 Matters

In India, scooters are usually seen as practical commuters easy to ride, fuel-efficient, and city-friendly. But in recent years, there’s been a shift. Young riders now want scooters that don’t just get them from A to B, but also look aggressive, pack performance, and offer features on par with motorcycles. The Yamaha Aerox 155 proved this formula works, and the Aprilia SR 175 added another premium flavour.

Until now, TVS didn’t have a direct answer in this category. The Ntorq 150 changes that. It’s not just an upgraded 125 it’s shaping up to be a proper maxi-scooter alternative built with performance and style in mind.

Design and Features

Teasers and spy shots show the Ntorq 150 carrying over the sporty DNA of the Ntorq 125, but in a bigger, bolder package. Expect sharper bodywork, beefier panels, and a distinctive quad LED headlamp setup with the trademark T-shaped DRL.

The scooter looks taller and wider, which should also translate into a more comfortable seating position for long rides.  Based on what its rivals offer, here’s what the Ntorq 150 is likely to feature:

  • 14-inch alloy wheels (like the Aerox and SR175) for improved stability and better handling.
  • Wide tubeless tyres, giving better grip and confidence in corners.
  • All-digital instrument cluster with TVS’s SmartXonnect system, Bluetooth pairing, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/message alerts.
  • Multiple ride modes, which are already present on the Ntorq 125 Race XP.
  • Practical features such as underseat storage large enough for a helmet, USB charging, and maybe a boot light.

Engine and Performance

Unlike the 125cc, which uses an air-cooled motor, the Ntorq 150 is tipped to feature an all-new liquid-cooled engine. Early estimates suggest 14–16 hp detuned mill from Apache bikes putting it directly in line with the Aerox 155 (15 hp) and Aprilia SR 175 (16 hp). That means the scooter should be capable of highway cruising at 90–100 km/h while still being quick off the line in city traffic.

Suspension is expected to be handled by telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear, with disc brake in fornt and drum setup in rear. A single-channel ABS is pretty much guaranteed. This setup mirrors what we see in its rivals, so TVS won’t want to be left behind.

The TVS Ntorq 150 is expected to launch at a price just under ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it between the mass-market Ntorq 125 (₹1 lakh top-end) and premium sporty scooters from Yamaha and Aprilia.

Its closest competition will be:

  • Yamaha Aerox 155 (₹1.48–1.60 lakh) – Powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled motor derived from the R15, it makes around 15 hp. It rides on 14-inch wheels, has a sharp maxi-scooter design, but comes with a front disc and rear drum setup with single-channel ABS.

  • Aprilia SR 175 (₹1.40–1.50 lakh) – Recenlty launched with updated engine it Offers slightly more power at 16 hp and sharp European styling. Like the Aerox, it runs front disc + rear drum brakes with single-channel ABS.

  • Hero Xoom 160 (upcoming) – Expected to launch soon with similar displacement and sporty styling, aiming to undercut Yamaha and Aprilia on pricing.

If TVS prices the Ntorq 150 aggressively, say around ₹1.40–1.45 lakh, it could undercut the Aerox and SR 175 while offering fresher design, more features, and possibly better braking hardware.
