KTM has launched the 2026 125 Duke in the UK with new colour options but no changes under the skin. The update brings two new shades, Electronic Orange and Atlantic Blue, both with the same naked Duke silhouette that the 250 and 390 Duke wear in India.
Europe’s graduated licensing system makes the 125cc class far more viable than it is in India. Riders aged 17 and above can ride 125cc motorcycles under the A1 licence, before moving up to the A2 and eventually a full A licence.
That gives KTM a clear reason to keep a proper 125 in its lineup. It serves as an entry point for younger riders who can eventually move up to larger KTMs as their licence allows.

KTM 125 Duke Specs and Features
The 125 Duke is powered by a 124.99cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 15 PS and 11.5 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It gets WP Apex 43mm forks, a 320mm front disc with a four-piston radial calliper, and Bosch Cornering ABS.
A 5-inch TFT display provides Bluetooth connectivity, call and SMS alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation. The bike also gets two ride modes: Street and Track.

What This Means for India
The 125 Duke has been in India before, and it did not work. KTM pulled it from the market when sales failed to justify its near-premium price for a 125cc motorcycle. At that price, Indian buyers generally expect more displacement.
The Duke 160 replaced it and made more sense commercially, with the RC 160 later following on the same platform. Unlike Europe, India lacks both the licensing structure and buyer profile that make a 125cc KTM viable, making a return unlikely.
