Building on the success of the Chetak 2903, Bajaj Auto has launched the Chetak 3001. The new 3001 is built on the new chassis platform, which it shares with the bigger 35 models. The new updates to the Chetak include faster charging, increased stability, and improved storage space.  It will compete against the upcoming Vida VX2 in sub 1 lakh ev segment

Priced at Rs. 99,990 (ex-showroom), let’s check out what the new Chetak 2903 has to offer.

Range, Charging, and Updates

The new Chetak 2903 packs a 3kWh battery pack, which claims a total range of 127 km. The battery pack can be charged from 0 to 80 percent SOC in 3 hours and 50 minutes with the help of the fast 750W charger. Additionally, Bajaj is also offering an optional TecPac technology suite, which includes features like call accept/reject functionality, music control, guide-me-home lights, hill-hold assist, reverse mode with light, and auto-flashing stop lamp.

Being the only metal-bodied EV in the segment, the Chetak 3001 uses the new chassis to increase the underseat storage area, bringing it to a best-in-class space of 35 litres. In terms of body and design, the Chetak 3001 takes cues from its big brother, the Chetak 3503, as it gets the same metal body, design, and drum brakes.

The 3001 can also be availed in three different colour options, including red, yellow, and blue.

As for specifications, Bajaj has not released any power figures, motor power, top speed, vehicle dimensions, or TecPac subscription costs, but it is expected to be released soon.

Pricing

The Chetak 3001 is priced at a competitive Rs 99,990, making it one of the most affordable options in its segment. The new updated 3001 is only Rs 1,500 more expensive than the previous 2,903 model. Bajaj Chetak is currently India's best-selling electric scooter as per the sales of FY 2025 Q4 (January-March).
