New Thar Only Comes in Hardtop And Starts At 9.99 Lakhs

The 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift has arrived, bringing a blend of subtle exterior tweaks and substantial interior and feature updates. Unlike the outgoing Thar, the facelift does not come with a soft-top option at launch, but it continues to offer the rugged off-road capability that the model is known for. Powertrain options remain unchanged, ensuring that performance and versatility are carried forward.

On the outside, the Thar facelift features a body-coloured grille, a dual-tone front bumper, and two fresh colour options – Tango Red and Battleship Grey – replacing the previous palette. The headlights, tail-lights, and the iconic 18-inch alloy wheels remain unchanged, keeping the Thar’s signature rugged appearance intact.

The interior has received a thoughtful update to improve comfort and convenience. A new black dashboard theme, redesigned steering wheel, rear AC vents, and door-mounted power window switches enhance usability. The front passengers benefit from individual centre armrests with storage, while a grab handle on the A-pillar and an internal fuel-lid opener add practical touches.

Feature-wise, the facelift brings upgrades to both safety and infotainment. A rear wiper and washer, along with a rear camera, are now standard, while a new 10.25-inch touchscreen with an updated off-road suite elevates the in-cabin technology experience.

Mechanically, the Thar retains the same three engines: a 152hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, a 119hp 1.5-litre diesel, and a 132hp 2.2-litre diesel. Gearbox options remain unchanged, and the 4WD system continues to be optional on the 2.0-litre petrol variant and standard on the 2.2-litre diesel.

We expect the Thar Roxx facelift to be revealed sometime in Q1 2026. Expect the similar changes Mahindra has done with the two-door version, may be some more fancy colors but that's it.
