2027 Kawasaki Z650RS Launched in India at Rs 7.83 Lakh

Quick Read - Kawasaki has introduced the 2027 Z650RS in India with a model-year tag refresh only. Priced flat at Rs 7.83 lakh (ex-showroom), the neo-retro roadster carries over identical mechanicals, electronics, and its sole Metallic Ocean Blue color with zero changes.

Kawasaki has launched the new Z650RS in India at Rs. 7.83 lakh, ex-showroom, which is the same price as the 2026 model. Not much has changed as it carries over all the mechanicals, even the color from the 2026 model. Kawasaki has essentially refreshed the model year tag to 2027.

The 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin carries over untouched, still making 68PS at 8,000rpm and 64Nm at 6,700rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The assist and slipper clutch, dual throttle valves, and two-mode KTRC traction control are all present, as they were before.

The chassis, brakes, and suspension are unchanged as well. Twin 300mm front discs and a 220mm rear disc handle braking, backed by dual-channel ABS. The 41mm telescopic front fork offers 125mm of travel, and the horizontal back-link rear suspension provides 130mm.

The colour is unchanged too. The Z650RS continues in Metallic Ocean Blue only, with no new shade added for 2027.

The neo-retro design package includes a round LED headlight with a dual-chamber setup, twin analogue dials paired with a multi-function LCD display, and a flat horizontal tail section with an LED taillight.

Rivals

In a segment where Royal Enfield's Continental GT 650 starts at around Rs 3.53 lakh, the Z650RS asks nearly Rs 4.30 lakh more for the same 650cc parallel-twin formula. The premium buys you traction control, a more sophisticated suspension layout, and a sharper visual package, but the value question is one every prospective buyer will have to answer for themselves.

The price hold is a small positive after the Rs 14,000 hike the 2026 model brought. Beyond that, there is not much news here.
