The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S is now on sale in India at Rs 8.23 lakh, ex-showroom. It is Rs 10,000 more expensive than the 2026 model it replaces, with deliveries starting mid-September 2026. The update is modest but fixes something that bothered existing owners, the torque dip that arrived with the 2026 model.
What Has Changed for 2027
The 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine now makes 62.4 Nm of torque at 6,600 rpm, up from 61 Nm on the 2026 bike. Peak power stays at 61 PS at 7,500 rpm, with the six-speed gearbox and the rest of the engine package unchanged.

The brakes have been revised too, though not in the direction most would expect. The front disc has shrunk from 300 mm to 272 mm, and the rear from 250 mm to 216 mm. Additionally, dual-channel ABS continues as the sole rider aid.
It also drops the outgoing Metallic Flat Spark Black and gets a Metallic Carbon Gray finish with Metallic Bluish Green highlights, offered in this single colour only. The new shade gives the bike a slightly fresher look without altering the silhouette.
2027 Vulcan S Specs
Everything else is unchanged, including the 705 mm seat height, 130 mm ground clearance, 235 kg kerb weight, 14-litre tank, 41 mm front fork with 130 mm travel, and a linkage-equipped rear monoshock with 80 mm travel and seven-position preload adjustment.

Rivals
The Vulcan S remains in a niche of its own in India. Its nearest competitor by engine class is the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, which starts at around Rs 4.05 lakh, roughly half the price. That gap has always been the Vulcan S's biggest challenge, and this update does nothing to close it.
What the 2027 model does offer is a corrected torque figure, a fresh coat of green, and the same accessible cruiser package that has kept this bike going since its India debut.
