Honda

The 2025 Honda Amaze 2nd Gen, while no longer available as a new model, remains a strong contender in the used compact sedan market in India. As Honda has introduced its 3rd generation Amaze, the 2nd Gen model offers a compelling value proposition for budget-conscious buyers seeking a reliable, spacious, and fuel-efficient family car. This review focuses on its attributes from a pre-owned perspective, highlighting key areas to inspect when considering a used unit.

Amaze 2nd Gen

The Honda Amaze blends practicality, efficiency, and strong safety credentials. Its 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 89 hp and 110 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or CVT, while delivering up to 19.46 kmpl (ARAI). The spacious cabin is backed by a generous 416-litre boot. The 3rd-generation model adds an Advanced Compatibility Engineering body, 6 airbags as standard, and Honda Sensing ADAS on higher variants. With clean LED styling and a comfortable ride, the Amaze focuses on dependable everyday usability for Indian families.

The Honda Jazz impressed on practicality, with its Magic Seat system folding to free up enormous boot space. The second-generation model, on sale in India from 2015, was offered in petrol and diesel until BS6 dropped the diesel. It was discontinued in early 2023 after BS6 Phase 2 made the existing petrol engine non-viable. It was not replaced with a successor in India.

Jazz

The 4th gen Honda City arrived in India in 2014 and stayed on even after the 5th gen model launched in 2020. Running a 1.5-litre petrol in its final years as a petrol-manual only offering, it was discontinued in early 2023 when BS6 Phase 2 norms made the powertrain non-viable. It was not replaced with a separate entry-level model.

City 4th Generation

The Honda WR-V (2020-2023) was a Jazz-based crossover that offered a raised ride height and a slightly more purposeful stance. The 2020 facelift brought revised styling and updated features, with a 1.5-litre petrol as its sole BS6 powertrain. Sales were slow amid sharp competition. Discontinued in April 2023, it was eventually succeeded in spirit by the Honda Elevate.
