Overall Rating

The Honda WR-V (2020-2023) was a Jazz-based crossover that offered a raised ride height and a slightly more purposeful stance. The 2020 facelift brought revised styling and updated features, with a 1.5-litre petrol as its sole BS6 powertrain. Sales were slow amid sharp competition. The Honda WR-V was a small crossover sold in the country. This model came with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The car offered a mileage of up to 23.7 kmpl. Honda stopped its production in April 2023 due to new emission and safety rules. Its price ranged from 10.5 lakh to 14.9 lakh. It was a spacious and practical vehicle for many families.

Engine and Performance

The Honda WR-V came with two engine options for Indian drivers. The first was a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that produced 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque. This engine was paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and offered a mileage of 16.5 kmpl. For those who wanted better fuel economy, the car also offered a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. This diesel unit made 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. It was linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox and delivered an impressive mileage of 23.7 kmpl. Both engines were known for their smooth performance and reliability on city roads. However, this model did not come with an automatic transmission choice. The petrol and diesel versions of the Honda WR-V focused on giving a practical driving experience for daily use in India.

interior

The Honda WR-V offered a spacious cabin with good legroom and headroom for all passengers. Inside, the car featured a 7-inch touchscreen system that supported navigation and music. One major highlight was the electric sunroof, which many buyers liked. This model included automatic climate control with a touch panel for ease of use. The driver enjoyed a height-adjustable seat and a steering wheel with controls. For luggage, the car had a large 363-liter boot space. The Honda WR-V used a black theme for the dashboard and fabric seats. There were several small storage areas and bottle holders for convenience. The layout was simple, making it easy for the driver to reach all buttons. It provided a practical environment for daily city driving and long family journeys. The seats were soft and offered enough support for 5 adults during travel.

exterior

The Honda WR-V is a small crossover that looks like a tall hatchback. It has a high ground clearance of 188 mm, which helps it go over bad roads and speed bumps easily. The front of the car has a thick chrome bar on the grille and sharp LED headlamps. It also comes with LED fog lamps and daytime running lights for better visibility at night. On the sides, the Honda WR-V has 16-inch alloy wheels and roof rails that make it look strong. One of its most popular features is the electric sunroof, which many people in India like. The rear of the car has large L-shaped tail lamps that go up the pillars. This model has black cladding around the bottom to protect the paint from scratches. Overall, the design is very practical for city driving.

competition

The Honda WR-V faced tough competition in the subcompact SUV segment. Its biggest rivals were the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Tata Nexon. Both these cars sold in very high numbers across India. Other key competitors included the Hyundai Venue and the Kia Sonet. These models offered many modern features and more engine choices. The Mahindra XUV300 and the Ford EcoSport were also part of this competitive group. The car had a price range between 10.5 lakh and 14.9 lakh. This price put it directly against these popular vehicles. Many rivals came with automatic gearbox options which this model lacked in its later years. The car tried to compete using its large cabin and a sunroof. However, the arrival of newer SUVs made it hard for this model to stay popular in India.
