Tata Motors also revealed that more than 3 lakh EVs have already been sold by the company in India. The carmaker says the updated Tiago EV benefits from a stronger electrical and electronics architecture with improved processing power to support its expanded feature list.

Exterior Design

The updated Tiago EV gets a revised front fascia with sleeker LED headlamps, new brow-style LED daytime running lamps and a closed-off body-coloured grille. Tata has also redesigned the front bumper with new faux air vents at the edges for a sportier look.

Along the sides, the Tiago EV receives new 15-inch alloy wheels along with contrasting wheel-arch cladding. The rear section now features connected LED tail-lamps and a revised bumper design. Other highlights include a dual-tone black roof, shark-fin antenna and chrome-finished door handles.

The electric hatchback is available in six colour options including Dehradun Dew, SoBo Surge, Pangong Pulse, Matheran Monsoon, Pure Grey and Pristine White.

Interior And Features

Inside, the Tiago EV receives a completely redesigned dual-tone dashboard layout. The hatchback now comes with a free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a partially digital TFT instrument cluster that supports Bluetooth functionality.

Tata says the upgraded E&E architecture allows the Tiago EV to support over 40 connected car functions. The hatchback also gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, rear AC vents, a cooled glovebox, auto-folding ORVMs, height-adjustable driver’s seat and a 4-speaker audio system.

The cabin additionally gets new door pads, grey fabric upholstery, a front centre armrest and a redesigned centre console finished in gloss black with dual wireless charging pads. While the two-spoke steering wheel has been retained, it now receives an updated Tata.ev logo.

Safety And Structure

Safety has also been significantly upgraded on the new Tiago EV. The hatchback now gets six airbags as standard, replacing the earlier dual-airbag setup. Other safety features include ESP with traction control, hill hold assist, TPMS, torque vectoring by braking, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

The Tiago EV also comes equipped with a 360-degree camera featuring multiple viewing modes and a blind-view monitor. Features such as automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and follow-me-home headlamps are also offered.

Tata Motors says the structural rigidity of the hatchback has also been strengthened for improved crash protection. The EV additionally benefits from a near 50:50 weight distribution setup for better driving balance and stability.

Battery, Range And Charging

The Tiago EV continues with two battery pack choices including a 19.2kWh unit and a larger 24kWh battery pack. The smaller battery version produces 62 hp and 110 Nm, while the larger battery develops 75 hp and 114 Nm.

The claimed MIDC range for the 24kWh version now stands at 285 km, while the 19.2kWh version offers a claimed range of 226 km. Tata’s claimed real-world C75 range figures stand at around 160-170 km for the smaller battery and 205-215 km for the larger pack.

Tata says charging speeds have improved by 40 percent, with the Tiago EV capable of adding 100 km of range in just 18 minutes. Both battery packs support 30kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10-80 percent charge in 35 minutes. The hatchback also comes with 3.3kW and 7.2kW AC charging options as standard.

The Tiago EV additionally gets four-level regenerative braking along with City and Sport drive modes. Tata claims the 24kWh version can accelerate from 0-60 kph in 5.7 seconds.
