Maruti Suzuki has expanded its push towards inclusive mobility by introducing a swivel seat option on the WagonR, targeting senior citizens and persons with disabilities who often face challenges with conventional car entry and exit.
Rolled out as a pilot programme in 11 cities, the feature is available at over 200 Maruti Suzuki Arena dealerships and is expected to see wider expansion based on real-world customer response and demand.
The swivel seat is designed as a practical, dealer-level retrofit, allowing customers to retain the original OEM seat while gaining improved accessibility. It rotates outward to make ingress and egress easier, especially in tight parking spaces and urban conditions.
Installation takes roughly one hour, keeping downtime minimal, and the solution is backed by a three-year warranty against manufacturing defects, which adds to its long-term usability and reliability.
Importantly, the swivel seat can be fitted on both 2019 and post WagonR models and existing vehicles, improving its commercial viability and reach. We expect it to be feature on more models down the line if demand increases
