Volkswagen has revealed the Tayron R-Line tailored for the Indian market. It brings back the company's presence in the three-row SUV segment, replacing the Tiguan AllSpace that was discontinued in 2021. The Tayron, being a three-row SUV, sits above the Tiguan R-Line in Volkswagen’s lineup.

The Tayron R-Line features a sporty look, with sharp bumpers and a large grille, special R-Line badges, and large 19-inch wheels. The rear stands out with sleek connected LED taillights and a glowing Volkswagen logo.

Based on the same platform as the Tiguan, it has a longer wheelbase (by about 109 mm) of 2,789 mm to accommodate the third row of seats.

The Tayron’s cabin offers modern features, including a large 15-inch screen for infotainment, a dedicated digital screen for the driver, leatherette front seats with massage and cooling functions, and advanced LED headlamps.

Other highlights include ambient lighting in 30 colours and a large panoramic sunroof.

The Tayron offers 345 litres of boot space with all the three-rows in use, and can be expanded up to 850 litres with the third row folded down.

Volkswagen Tayron Powertrains

Under the hood, the Tayron uses a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, churning out 204 BHP and 320 Nm of torque. It is paired to a seven-speed DCT. All Wheel Drive will also be on offer.

Volkswagen plans to build this SUV in India at its plant in Maharashtra.

When Will Volkswagen Tayron Launch?

The company aims to launch the Tayron in India by March 2026. It will compete with models like the Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, and MG Gloster in the premium SUV space. Pricing details are not out yet, but we expect it to range between ₹45 to ₹50 lakh, appealing to families seeking luxury and space.
