The compact SUV segment in India, consisting of sub-4-meter vehicles with petrol engines up to 1,200cc or diesel engines up to 1,500cc, has become even more appealing following the GST 2.0 reforms effective September 22, 2025.
The GST Council slashed rates from 28% plus cess (up to 43%) to a flat 18%, removing the compensation cess entirely. This has brought down prices on base variants by ₹30,000 to ₹1.05 lakh.
