Skoda Slavia Facelift Production Begins Ahead of Festive Season Launch

Quick Read - Production of the 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift has started in Pune, set to launch during the festive season.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has commenced production of the facelifted Slavia at its Chakan plant in Pune. It arrives as the festive season gets underway, which is typically the strongest sales period for passenger vehicles in India.

What is new on the 2026 Slavia
The most notable mechanical change is a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox paired with the 1.0 TSI petrol engine. The outgoing Slavia offered a 6-speed torque converter auto only with the larger 1.5 TSI, so the 1.0 TSI getting a torque converter option is a meaningful upgrade for buyers who found the previous DSG pairing less than ideal in city traffic.
On the features front, the new Slavia introduces a rear seat massage function, which Skoda claims is a segment-first. It also gets a 360-degree Area View camera and a revised infotainment system with an AI Companion feature powered by Google Cloud.
Safety wise, it continues to carry its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating.

Slavia Facelift Launch Timeline, Prices and Rivals
The launch of the new Slavia with official pricing is expected in October 2026, in line with the festive season, expected to be priced between Rs 10.25 lakh and Rs 18.75 lakh, ex-showroom.
It will continue to take on the Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Virtus.
