Skoda has officially confirmed that the new-generation Octavia RS will make its way to India in November 2025. This marks the return of one of the most loved performance sedans to the Indian market after a gap of several years. The car will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), which means numbers will be limited and pricing will lean towards the premium side.

The Octavia RS that is headed to India will closely follow the global specification. At its heart lies a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine, producing close to 265 PS and 370 Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox.

this setup helps the RS sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in about 6.4–6.6 seconds, while the top speed is electronically capped at 250 km/h.

The RS also stands apart from the standard Octavia with a sportier suspension that lowers the car by 15 mm, giving it both sharper handling and a more aggressive stance. Blacked-out trim, RS badging, and a sport exhaust add further character. The cabin continues Skoda’s tradition of understated premium quality but adds sport seats, contrast stitching, and RS-specific touches to complete the package.

Expected Price in India

Since the new Octavia RS will arrive as a full import, the pricing will be much higher than the regular Octavia sold earlier in India. Estimates place it at around ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom).

For reference, the Volkswagen Golf GTI, which shares its platform and engine with the Octavia RS, is priced at around ₹50 lakh post GST revision.

Both the Octavia RS and the Volkswagen Golf GTI are powered by essentially the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing roughly 265 PS and 370 Nm. The GTI, however, is a lighter and more compact hatchback, which allows it to edge ahead slightly in outright acceleration, with a 0–100 km/h time of around 5.9 seconds compared to the RS’s 6.4–6.6 seconds.

Both cars are electronically limited to 250 km/h.
