Mahindra has recently filed on the government’s transport website, which hints that the XEV 9e might be getting new variants. The new variants will likely aim to introduce the 79kWh battery for the Pack Three Select trim and a smaller 59kWh battery for the top-spec Pack Three.
Variants
Currently, Mahindra sells XEV 9e in four different variants: Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three grades. While all three variants are available in standard-range variants, the Pack Three grade is also available in a long-range variant.
With the leaked government documents, it looks like Mahindra is planning to introduce the long-range variant of the Pack Three Select trim.
This will allow customers to avail of the long-range variant without having to opt for the expensive Pack Three grade. Another plan is to introduce the choice of a 59 kWh battery to be made available with the top-spec Pack Three trim.
Mahindra Specs and Details
Over the four variants on offer, there are two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. The 59 kWh produces 231 hp of power and 380 Nm of torque with a total range of 542 km, while the bigger 79 kWh produces 286 hp of power and 380 Nm of torque with a total range of 656km.
The BE 6 and XEV 9e are Mahindra's latest bet against the recently launched Harrier EV. The latter currently retails between Rs 22.65 lakh and Rs 31.25 lakh ex-showroom.
