New Kia Carens Clavis Variants Explained

Kia India has rolled out exciting updates to its Carens Clavis MPV, making it an even better fit for families looking for style, comfort, and flexibility. The highlight is the new HTX(O) trim, priced at ₹19.27 lakh (ex-showroom), positioned between the HTX and the top-end HTX+.

Kia has also made the popular 6-seater layout more accessible by introducing captain’s chairs in the mid-range HTK+ and HTK+(O) trims. Launched on October 13, 2025, these updates aim to offer more choices without stretching budgets.

The HTX(O) trim is a treat for music lovers and tech-focused drivers. It brings the premium 8-speaker Bose sound system, previously exclusive to the HTX+, to a more affordable price point.

It also carries features like drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport), an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, 17-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, LED headlights, twin 12.25-inch screens for navigation and entertainment, a 360-degree camera, and ambient lighting. Powering it is a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 160 hp, paired with a smooth 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

Buyers can choose between 6- or 7-seater layouts to match their needs.

Kia has made the 6-seater option with plush captain’s chairs easier to get. Previously available only on the top-spec HTX+ petrol, this setup now comes with the HTK+ trim in both turbo-petrol DCT and diesel automatic versions. The HTK+(O) continues as a petrol-only variant. These captain’s chairs slide, recline, and feature a one-touch tumble mechanism for easier third-row access.

Safety remains a strong focus, with Level 2 ADAS offering 20 autonomous features, six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, rear occupant alert, and rollover protection.

“We’re thrilled to make the Carens Clavis even more family-friendly,”

said Atul Sood, Kia India’s Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales & Marketing.

“With the new HTX(O) trim and more 6-seater options, we’re giving our customers the freedom to pick what suits their lifestyle best while keeping things innovative and affordable.”

With eight trims now HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX, HTX(O), and HTX+ the Carens Clavis continues to strengthen its position in the MPV space, blending futuristic design with practical, family-oriented features.
