Mahindra XUV 7XO Scores 5 Stars in Bharat NCAP, Gets Near-Perfect Adult Safety Score

The Mahindra XUV 7XO has been awarded a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, scoring 30.76 out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 44.97 out of 49 for child safety, two of the stronger results seen in the segment this year.
The 5-star rating applies to the full XUV 7XO lineup across petrol and diesel, manual and automatic. The two variants physically tested were the AX7 diesel 2WD automatic and the AX7L diesel AWD automatic, both seven-seaters.
What makes this result worth noting is how well the XUV 7XO held up across different test scenarios. The side movable deformable barrier test returned a perfect score, and the side pole test was also cleared cleanly, an area where several SUVs have historically dropped points.

Adult and Child Occupant Protection Breakdown
The adult score was built on 14.76 out of 16 in the frontal crash test and a perfect 16 out of 16 in the side barrier test. Head and neck protection was rated good throughout, with only the driver's chest and shin returning adequate ratings. The side pole test was also cleared.
On the child safety side, the dynamic score came in at 23.97 out of 24 and the child seat installation score was a perfect 12 out of 12. The vehicle assessment score of 9 out of 13 is the only area with room for improvement.
Safety Kit on the Tested Car
Standard across all variants is electronic stability control, curtain airbags for all three rows, pedestrian protection, and seat belt reminders at every seat. Front airbags and belt pretensioners are standard for the driver and front passenger, and ISOFIX anchorages are available on the outboard rear seats.
One thing to note is that the driver's knee airbag is optional, not standard. Worth checking before finalising a variant.
