Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the all-new VLE, an electric grand limousine that seats up to eight across three full rows and marks the first vehicle built on the company's newly developed Van Architecture. The VLE is powered by the in-house MB.OS operating system and comes standard with electric sliding doors on both sides.
Here’s everything you need to know:
Mercedes-Benz VLE Electric Battery
To support the demands of this new, large-scale platform, the vehicle relies on a heavy-duty electrical setup. Under the hood, or rather, under the floor, sits a 115 kWh lithium-ion NMC battery paired with an 800-volt architecture that allows DC fast charging up to 300 kW.
Mercedes-Benz VLE Electric Range
Because of this high-capacity configuration, Mercedes-Benz claims the VLE 300 electric can recover up to 355 km of WLTP range in just 15 minutes at compatible stations.
The VLE 300 electric provisional WLTP figure stands at a range exceeding 700 km, with combined energy consumption between 18.6 and 20.4 kWh/100 km.
Mercedes-Benz VLE Electric Interiors

While this advanced battery architecture makes extensive long-distance travel highly viable, interior space is where the VLE makes its clearest statement.
Rear seating can be reconfigured manually via the Roll & Go system, where seats roll on four integrated wheels, or electrically through the Remote Variable Rear Space function controlled via the infotainment system or the Mercedes-Benz app.
Four preset modes cover configurations from maximum cargo to VIP legroom. Moreover, there is an optional retractable 79 cm (31.3-inch) panoramic screen with 8K resolution that drops from the headliner for rear passengers.

The optional rear-axle steering reduces the curb-to-curb turning circle to 10.9 metres, a tight figure for a vehicle measuring 5,309 mm in length.
A multi-source heat pump comes standard, drawing on waste heat from the drive unit and battery to reduce heating energy consumption to roughly one-third of a conventional auxiliary heater.
The VLE also arrives factory-prepared for bidirectional charging (V2H and V2G) in all markets.
